Woman Turns Her Sleeping Cat Into The Purrfect Zen Garden

Ah, cats. The backbone of the internet.

No one knows that better than cat owners, who gleefully share images of their tiny demons (I say that with affection) for social media to enjoy. Us cat owners know what we have.

Take professor and poet Sarah Holland-Batt, for example. She decided to share a photoshoot of her cat as a zen garden, and Twitter went WILD for it.

Meet Lola.

Don't let that grump disposition fool you — Lola is pretty chill...for a diva, anyway.

Lola is the feline companion of Sarah Holland-Batt, and the two get up to some pretty hilarious things together. You know, like turning Lola into a zen garden.

I'm not kidding.

Meet Lola: Zen Garden Edition.

Lola is a Blue Burmese, aka a big fluffy grey cat who is super into being brushed — err, raked. Sarah posted some pictures of her as a little zen garden, and Twitter went nuts over it.

The tweet was so wholesome.

"Today seems as good a day as any to share these pics of the cat done as a Zen garden with the world," Sarah said, having no idea the heights of fame that she and Lola would achieve.

Zen cat.

Lola and her fur zen garden started racking up the retweets and likes. Over 160,000 people hit that little heart to show support for her zen self. That's Twitter viral, baby!

Some wanted to try it for themselves.

Here's the thing: I'm pretty sure I could do this to my cat, to a point. I could definitely get him to enjoy the raking since he LOVES a good pet. But he'd never tolerate the rocks because he's a little demon child.

Others actually did it.

Twitter user @MarlaFromColo decided to try it with her long-haired cat, and you can see how that went. If a cat sees a stick, it WILL try to eat the stick. That's cat science.

The fame went right to Lola's head.

"People, the cat already had big diva energy to begin with. How will I cope with her ego now?" Sarah wrote in a follow-up tweet.

She's going to be demanding her food in a crystal dish, I just know it.

She's right.

There's a lot of content out there, but there's nothing more important than cat content. It's what the internet was built on, after all. Lola and her zen garden are just continuing the proud cat meme tradition.

What do you think of Lola the zen garden?

I think she's the cutest thing since sliced bread! I wish I could try this with my cat, but I'm not looking to get hit in the head today.

Would you try this with your cat?
