Sister Stunned After Family Accuses Her Of Losing Weight Just To Upstage Bride

I guess I'm just lucky, but I can't say I've ever been to a wedding where my invitation came with a list of demands.

Nonetheless, it's not unheard of as some bridezillas can find themselves getting overly specific with what they expect from their guests.

And unfortunately, this tends to involve a lot of obsession over the weight of their guests and particularly of their bridesmaids.

But while it's always sad when someone's drive to have the "perfect" wedding leads them to body shame the people who are supposed to be close to them, one woman apparently couldn't win and caught the ire of her family for the opposite reason.

Over the last year, the woman we're about to hear from has lost close to 100 pounds.

As she explained in a Reddit post, this wasn't known to anyone in her family because she doesn't live near them nor does she have a social media presence.

In her words, "It's just that every time before that I've tried to lose weight it hasn't worked out so I didn't want anyone commenting on it."

So when she got together with her family in anticipation of her sister's wedding, her new look came as a pretty big surprise.

Unfortunately, it wasn't a very pleasant one for the sister, who had apparently gained some weight since they last saw each other.

The woman didn't care and was excited for her sister's big day, but the sister apparently had something of a meltdown about the difference in their respective weights.

As the woman put it, "I think this is the first time in our lives that I'm smaller than her I've always been the 'fat sister.'"

This compelled the sister to accuse her of losing weight to upstage her at her wedding.

But while you might expect this to be taken as the rantings of a bridezilla, her parents seemed to unanimously agree and took the bride's side.

Faced with this reaction, the woman reached out to a Reddit community to find out if she really had done anything wrong.

But as far as the baffled Redditors were concerned, the woman was just stuck with a toxic family.

As one user said, "You making a healthy decision for yourself does not give her the right to make it about her. Your parents should be ashamed of themselves for agreeing with her."

And while just about everyone agreed and wondered how the family could possibly support such an absurd claim, one person put it better than anyone.

In their words, "You didn’t lose weight at her."
