Woman Sparks Debate After Throwing Water On 13-Year-Old Boy Who Did The Same To Her Cat

If there's one thing you should know about cat people, it's that we are HIGHLY loyal.

We obsess over their little kitty paws and don't care that every item of clothing is covered in fur. We also buy enough cat-themed clothes to last a decade.

So when one 13-year-old doused water on a cat, the cat mama decided to go tit for tat cat and douse water right back on him.

This tale of revenge was shared on Twitter by Shannon Cooper.

In a tweet that's been liked more than 586k times, she explained that her 13-year-old neighbor threw a cup of water on her cat. Now it's one thing if the cat was attacking him or something.

But he wasn't. The cat was just sitting on the fence, minding his own business.

The boy even laughed when he threw the water. So in order to get revenge, Shannon threw a basin of water over him from the window. She explained that the boy's dad had a problem with this.

"And now his dad is at my door going mental but I don’t see the problem," she wrote, before concluding with, "don't touch my cat."

At first, many people were on Shannon's side. "Sounds like he got what he deserved," this Twitter user commented. Another added clapping emojis.

One girl wrote that justice had been served for the kitty.

They also slammed the dad for not teaching his son kindness to animals.

"I don't let little kids anywhere near my pets if I can help it," she wrote. "They're too damn rough and their parents don't do anything about it until the kid gets scratched or growled at."

Some expressed that the job of revenge wasn't quite done.

"Just start throwing water on the dad now. Don’t stop throwing water until your cat is avenged," this user wrote.

Shannon actually agreed with this, tweeting, "will throw it over u to Brian" in response to the dad being upset.

Since many serial killers hurt animals as children, some expressed worry over this.

"That kid’s a serial killer in the making!" this woman wrote. One person even shared the story of their neighbor who used to harm animals. They said that he's been in and out of institutions for years.

But not everyone agreed with Shannon's tit for tat tactics.

"That would be a form of assault," one woman tweeted, adding that you don't retaliate against children. "The proper response would be to talk to the kids parents. But throwing a basin water on a 10yr old could get you in alot of trouble."

“You’re lucky that you did not get charged with a crime,” another user argued. “Here [in America], it would be assault.”

This continued on, with many agreeing that the girl should've handled the problem with the boy's father directly instead of throwing water on him.

After seeing some of the negative comments, Shannon spoke up.

"people r so mad over this, the kid and his dad were laughing about it today, we r friends (also might I add the dad never knew what his son done which is why he was mad to begin with)," she tweeted.

This got people even more riled up!

One man said that what she did to the kid was inhumane. "There were other ways to stop the kid to behave with cats gently. The kid father is justified to sue you in a court."

Many were interested to hear another parent's take on the situation.

"Lmao, I'm a mom and if that happened to my kid I'd say that's what you get, and how does it feel?"

Wow! Who knew a cat could stir up so much drama!

We hope that the kitty is fine and that the 13-year-old boy learned his lesson.
