Influencer Mom Vows To Not Potty Train Her Son Until He 'Asks' Her To
TikTok user @ComingUpFern is receiving a mixed reaction after sharing her potty-training plans for her son.
According to Heathline most children start working on their toilet training skills between 18 months and 3 years of age.
The publication reported that the median age for a potty-trained child is around 27 months.

Of course, there are plenty of reasons why a child may take more or less time to nail down this life skill.
However, it's safe to say most parents want to start sooner rather than later.
However, one mom on TikTok is vowing to not potty train her son until he asks her to do it.
Mommy-blogger @ComingUpFern replied to a follower's question about her son's schdule for potty training.
"When and how do you plan to 'potty train" Fern?" the follower asked. "My son is 22 months & I don't feel he's ready."
In response to the question, the 22-year-old wrote: "we aren’t going to potty train him at all. When he asks to use the toilet, we'll show him."
The comments were filled with mixed opinions from her followers.
"Okay this one has to be a joke," wrote one fan.
"Alice I support you and think you’re a great mom but I’m gonna have to disagree with you on this one," said another.
However, not everyone disagreed with the idea,
"Y’all mad she won’t force him to use a toilet before he’s ready," said one fan. "The only reason is convenience. Most kids are ready by 4 without potty training."
"I think she means she’ll decide to teach him when he starts to show interest, which is what you’re recommended to do," said a different user.
I think it's safe to say that every parent does what they believe is best for their child, period!
