Dax Shepard Shares 'Unpopular Opinion' When It Comes To Talking About Sex With His Daughters

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are two of everyone's favorite celebrities. To be fair, what's not to love?! They keep it open and honest when it comes to their relationship, while also protecting their children and keeping them away from the spotlight. Sounds kind of like the perfect Hollywood parenting strategy to me!

Now, Dax is opening up about the way he and his wife talk to their daughters about sex.

Sex is a topic many parents feel *many* different ways about.

Some parents feel it's important to be open and honest with their kids, while others think it's best to keep their opinions to themselves and let their children learn and discover their sexuality on their own.

On a recent episode of Dax's podcast, the actor sat down with Gwyneth Paltrow to chat about her upcoming Netflix series, "Sex, Love and Goop."

While chatting about parenthood, Dax praised the way his wife has talked to their daughters about sex, and how he feels his opinion about his daughter's virginity may not be popular.

Dax says that he doesn't feel a need to protect his daughters (Lincoln, 8, and Delta, 6) from men when they grow up.

"Of course, the most generic thing every guy says to me is, ‘Oh, you better have a gun, there’s gonna be guys coming around,'" he explained.

"This notion I have to protect my daughters’ virginity with great prejudice if necessary."

"My response is, I do not want my daughters to have sex so they can get approval from somebody, but if my daughters are horny and want to have sex, that was my favorite activity, remains my favorite activity, I’d be lying if I said I was any way anti-that activity."

He added that his opinion is "unpopular."

Dax then went on to explain the "ingenious" talk his wife Kristen gave to their daughters.

"When she describes sex to our children she says, 'And then the woman takes the man’s penis and puts it in her vagina.' So right away it’s, you’re in charge of this, you will decide to put this in your vagina, not the man puts his penis in your vagina," he explained.

That's kind of awesome, honestly.

"You’re in the driver’s seat," he further explained. “I was like, 'That’s a nice little adjustment we’re gonna make.'"

I love how open and honest they're raising their daughters to be about their bodies. It might not work for everyone, but I think it's pretty cool!
