Acupuncturist's TikTok Hack For Relieving Constipation Has People...Well, Pooping

We have heard of some pretty weird hacks from the murky realm of TikTok in recent times. However, one of the most recent tricks to have people talking is one health hack which is supposed to be able to relieve constipation.

The hack has a lot of people saying that they have been pooping, so let's have a look at what this load-of-crap-inducing hack is all about.

A lot more people than you may think suffer from constipation, but one TikTokker claims to be able to fix this.

The hack was described in a video by Anita Tadavarthy MAcOM, LAc, who is a licensed acupuncturist.

Anita posted the video to her TikTok channel called "empiricalgraceacu" and demonstrated how to alleviate constipation simply by rubbing your hands together in a specific way.

However, a word of warning, you should not try this if you are pregnant as it can apparently cause unwanted contractions according to the acupuncturist behind this viral hack.

The trick involves making a fist and rubbing your hands together.

More specifically, you need to make a fist, then press your hands together so that your pointer fingers and thumbs are touching. Once you have done this, apply a fair amount of pressure and rub your hands back and forth.

Apparently consistency is key to this method, as you should try it for a few minutes each day while on the toilet.

You can see Anita explain the method in her video below. In an interview with Buzzfeed she also explained why this technique works:

"Acupressure/acupuncture accesses various images through our body, like reflexology. There are connecting points on the hand that connect to the colon. It is key in bringing blood flow and stimulation to the affected areas.

"This massage at the acupressure point [known as] large intestine 4 (LI4) stimulates the large intestine or colon. The back and forward massage on the acupressure point causes the same back and forward contraction of the colon to pass the stool. That's why this works so well."

Surprisingly, there were a lot of people in the comments who claimed that this worked for them!

"I only ever go once a day, figures I'd try it...I've now gone twice, and about to have a 3rd," commented another individual who was very okay with sharing.

However, not everyone was so fortunate as to have found a new hack for curing constipation.

It seemed as though there was a real split between those who it worked for and those who it didn't work for. This did lead some individuals to speculate that the placebo effect may be the reason why it worked for so many people.

However, if it works for you then...well, happy pooping!
