Floridian Boaters Save Dog Swimming Alone In Ocean Then Track Down Owners

One thing that no one expects to find when they are out on a boat in the Atlantic Ocean is a terrified dog swimming alone in the water.

However, one group of friends recently came across just such a sight and were fortunate enough to be able to stop the poor little dog from drowning. The video of the heartwarming rescue can be seen below.

The little pooch was found swimming alone by Bryn Cromwell and her friends while they were out on a boat trip.

Bryn and her friends managed to spot the dog struggling to stay afloat, miles from any land.

The group quickly pulled the dog aboard, after which the little terrier began shivering and shaking itself dry.

The rescue video, which you can watch below, has since been viewed over 9 million times.

The video was uploaded with the caption "just Florida things" and people flooded the comments by saying how fortunate it was that the group happened to find the poor little guy.

They discovered that the dog was called Zuco and the group quickly phoned the number on his tag.

Zuco's owners were over the moon to have located their little guy — with them paying Bryn and her friends for returning their dog.

Zuco had also been found wearing a shock collar, but Bryn and her friends took it off and threw it in the bin.

In a follow-up video, it turned out that Zuco had jumped off the back of his owner's boat without them noticing.

In a screenshot of a text from Zuco's owners, it was explained that he is only a puppy and was not yet used to being on a boat. When he was trying to bite some of the waves at the back of the boat, his owners think he must have fallen overboard without anyone seeing him.

Zuco now has a bright orange lifejacket to keep him safe when he is out on the waves.

This story really goes to show how important putting a lifejacket on your dog is when it comes to taking your dog out on a boat. No matter how strong a swimmer your dog is, please keep them safe out there.

Zuco is now safe and well having been to the vets, and he's looking pretty sharp in his lifejacket.
