Celebrities Whose Pregnancies Were Hidden During Filming A Movie

If there's one famous phrase in Hollywood, it's the show must go on!

It doesn't matter if co-stars despise each other or the main actor is fired. It also doesn't matter whether an actress is pregnant.

Hollywood always finds a way to work around it!

Here are 14 celebrities whose pregnancies were hidden during filming a movie!

1. Reese Witherspoon - *Vanity Fair*

Focus Features

Those voluminous period dresses weren't just for show in the film — they were also used to strategically hide Reese's baby bump!

At the time, she was pregnant with her second child with her husband Jim Toth.

2. Blake Lively - *The Shallows*

It's hard to believe Blake was able to hide her baby bump in the film, considering she's in a wetsuit or bikini the whole time.

A lot of the time, she was able to conceal her bump with her surfboard.

"They didn't hire a stunt double till the last two weeks of shooting," Blake later revealed.

"Every single day there wasn't a single scene that wasn't stunt-heavy." Inez, the baby she was pregnant with, would be so proud!

3. Scarlett Johansson - *Avengers: Age of Ultron*

The Marvel team worked overtime to hide Scarlett's baby bump with her second child.

According to CinemaBlend, they had three Black Widow stunt doubles, concealing costumes, visual effects, and close-up shots.

4. Gal Gadot - *Wonder Woman*

DC

The actress truly was Wonder Woman while filming. That's because she was five months pregnant during the reshoots!

A green cloth was cut into the middle of her costume so the special effects team could alter her figure.

She joked about how this looked to *EW*.

"On close-up I looked very much like Wonder Woman. On wide shots I looked very funny, like Wonder Woman pregnant with Kermit the Frog," she said. We think she looked fab!

5. Isla Fisher - *Burke and Hare*

In addition to hiding her pregnancy from the world during this film, she also hid it from her co-stars! At the time, she was three months pregnant. All of those big dresses certainly helped!

6. Halle Berry - *X-Men: The Days of Future Past*

With a superhero suit like Storm's, you'd think that it would be impossible to hide a baby bump, right? Wrong!

A lot of Halle's scenes were moved ahead of schedule to accommodate for her bump.

7. Kate Winslet - *Divergent*

If you wondered why Kate's character was always holding something in her hands, like an iPad or a folder, in the film, there's a reason for this. She was hiding her five-month baby bump!

"We had to be very strategic in the way that we shot her," director Neil Burger said in the film's DVD/BluRay special commentary.

"She always had some sort of file or case in her hand that was sort of protecting, you know, her bump."

8. Naomi Watts - *Eastern Promises*

Paramount Pictures

The actress was only two weeks pregnant when she started filming the mob thriller. Playing a midwife in the film certainly came in handy when she gave birth to her son, Sasha.

While she hid the pregnancy news from bher co-stars, she didn't hide it from the film's costume designer.

That's because it was her sister! "We were shooting mostly nights. It was tough. I was not feeling my best," she said.

9. Helena Bonham Carter - *Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street*

It certainly helped that the father of Helena's baby was the film's director, Tim Burton. As a result, he moved up production before she started to show.

10. Angelina Jolie - *The Changeling*

This was the film where she concealed the expecting twins with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt. It was quite ironic that her character in the film was a grieving mother who lost her son.

11. Penelope Cruz - *Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides*

In case you didn't know, the actress has an almost-identical sister, Mónica Cruz. She's the one who filled in as Penelope's stunt double in the film since her sister was pregnant at the time.

12. Emily Blunt - *The Girl on the Train*

In the film, she plays an unhinged alcoholic named Rachel Watson. Since she was pregnant with her second daughter, Violet, she calls this film the "most exhausting" role she's had.

“It’s actually physically quite tiring to play someone who’s drunk and frightened and unhinged the whole time,” Blunt told *EW*.

“I think what was the most challenging about it is to play someone like this in the first trimester," she said.

13. Blake Lively - * The Age of Adaline*

The actress was nauseous during most of the filming due to her pregnancy.

"Actually, my thoughts were ‘Dear God, I have to do this stunt today’ — crashing into a pond and then crawling up the bank. That was tough," she told Mercury News.

14. Emily Blunt - *Into the Woods*

It was an ironic character to play, considering her character desperately wanted a baby.

Blunt's co-star, Meryl Streep, said that Emily was constantly hiding behind James Corden and having her apron adjusted.
