Student With Leg Brace Actually Got In Trouble Over Not Complying With Dress Code

Schools are a place where children go to get an education. Schools are the foundation of success for young children into their adolescence and into adulthood. While education is important for kids to succeed, many rules in school interfere and get in the way of their success and their classroom time. And, social media has shown the many ways that girls are at a disadvantage.

Lately, many stories of girls being dress coded at school have gone viral.

Many stories of young girls being pulled out of class and asked to change, or some even being sent home, due to their outfits at school have stirred up a lot of controversies online. Parents and students alike have shared their stories of the "unfairness" the female students face.

Many believe that it is a sexist and unfair way to treat female students.

Because female students are the ones who are always targeted in the dress code violations, many believe that it is sexist and unfair. Others question why the female students are targeted, instead of teaching young boys to respect women and their bodies.

It seems that many of the dress codes are outdated.

Many parents complain that the dress codes at their children's schools have not been updated in quite some time. In addition, school admins are constantly siding with male students over female and interrupting their entire day of education for something as small as shorts or a t-shirt.

Recently, one TikTok user added to the stories of dress code violations with her own.

TikTok user @kyles._.w shared a video titled "this is why I hate f--king school." In the video, she shared that she was dress-coded and pulled from class for not wearing pants and was "missing class for this BS."

The entire reason she wasn't wearing pants however, was shocking.

In the rest of the video, @kyles._.w shares that the reason she isn't wearing pants is that she actually can't—she has an entire leg brace on. Wearing pants over a leg brace definitely will not work. And the entire point is that the brace is snug on the leg, so wearing it under won't work either.

One person responded saying she "could have worn pants."

However, the TikTik user shared that it was "far too hot to wear sweats" and her pants weren't big enough to fit over the brace. Therefore, shorts were her only option, and the school had no idea how to accommodate her.

However, some shared they experienced the same thing.

One person said that they attended school in a wheelchair for 8 weeks and, even though she was recovering, she was dress-coded at least "4 times a week." Clearly, this school didn't view learning as a priority.

Someone said the admin should try having to wear one of these.

Some on TikTok feel as though the admin doesn't understand because they don't have to deal with this in their own life. One person said that if the school staff had to wear one, maybe they'd be way less harsh on her.

And, another person summed up how we all feel.

A woman commented on the video saying that with all the TikTok videos coming out, it gives her more reason to just home school her kids when she becomes a mom because the schools are always trifling on kids who are just there to learn.

Amen.
