Lara found herself making a cake that was a life-sized replica of Jason Derulo, weighing over 100kg — which is a lot of cake and fondant!
Lara posted a video, shown below, of how she went about making the mammoth creation!
The idea of having a life-sized version of yourself made out of cake would not occur to most people, but Jason Derulo is not most people.
Derulo personally reached out to British baker Lara some time back to ask if she would be interested in collaborating on a video.
Lara videoed herself working on the inner layers and the fondant details...with her spending quite a lot of time dedicated to Derulo's delicate areas!
Cake Derulo is made from cubes of plain sponge, red velvet cake, and chocolate cake. Lara used up a selection of cakes that she had lying around on the project.
"The story behind it was Jason reached out on Instagram to do a video collaboration and this is the idea we came up with together. He's seen it and loves it!" Lara told LadBible.
Lara is, as you can tell, an experienced baker and has been baking for just under a decade now. God knows it would take me a decade alone to make something like this!
One of the main responses to Lara's amazing video was, "I'd have a sliceof Jason Derulo ANYDAY"! With other reactions including:
"That's entirely more realistic than I thought a cake could look. It's incredible."
"That's not a cake that's a living person."
