Woman Unveils The Trick Behind Video Where She Appears To Jump Off A Cliff

Considering the vast richness of content that hits the internet every day, it can be pretty hard for something to catch our attention unless it's breaking news or happens to align with our interests.

But it is possible for some images to enchant our curiosity without making us think of a larger issue and they accomplish that by making it confusing and sometimes hard to tell what we're even looking at.

And even if an image of video is hitting us with something we recognize, it can still be maddeningly mysterious as to how what we're seeing actually happened.

That was definitely the question of the lips of those who came cross one short but eye-catching video last month.

At first, the video that a TikTok user who goes by Monica released on July 31 seems simple enough.

As she stands on a cliff in Hawaii, she makes it clear that she doesn't want to hear about her friends' experiences at the bar last night due to her "drinking anxiety."

But what happens after that cuts through the beautiful scenery and relaxing music and seriously startles her viewers.

Just a few seconds into the video, Monica appears to jump off the cliff she's standing on while whoever is filming her pans the camera around.

Obviously, the fact that this didn't come as a surprise to the camera operator and the fact that she kept uploading videos makes it clear she didn't actually plummet off a cliff.

But of course, that only made people more curious as to how she so convincingly made it seem like that was the case.

And they would have to remain curious because it would take over a month before she revealed how she did it.

But on August 29, she finally gave the person who said "Need a reveal of where u jumped to" what they asked for.

As we can see in this follow-up clip, there was a ledge underneath the edge of the cliff all along and she had just been jumping onto that.

However, once people saw that ledge, they became just as anxious as when they started because it seems narrower than they might have expected. So even though she never fell from the cliff in a way she didn't intend, they figured it would be very easy for that to happen.

At least she seems comfortable enough with it, I guess.
