Kelly Ripa, 50, Shares Emotional, Makeup-Free Selfie After Becoming An 'Empty Nester'

One of the hardest things for any parent to endure is the transition from full-time parents to empty nesters. It makes me emotional just thinking about it!

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are experiencing that empty nester transition now, and the talk show host recently shared an emotional, makeup-free selfie showing how the two are getting on in the first few days without their youngest at home.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have been married since May 1996 which is essentially three lifetimes by Hollywood standards.

This ultimate duo has three children together — daughter Lola, 20, and sons Michael, 24, and Joaquin, 18.

This past spring, the pair's youngest son Joaquin graduated high school.

After a summer of making memories together, Kelly and Mark sent their youngest baby off to college, making them officially empty nesters.

Michael recently opened up about his parents becoming empty nesters, telling Ryan Seacrest: "She already adopted a dog, so she's already been preparing."

Now, Kelly is sharing a selfie showing how she and her hubby are handling this new phase of life.

"So far we are crushing this empty nest thing," the 50-year-old captioned the selfie.

The comments were filled with support for the sad-looking mama bear.

"Omg so funny and sorry. It must hurt bad," commented Naomi Campbell.

"Omg sending so much love," echoed Lisa Rinna.

On the bright side, Kelly looks absolutely incredible in this makeup-free selfie?

Sending big hugs to all the parents going through this exact pain right now!
