Cat Steals The Internet's Heart With Her Stunning Multi-Colored Eyes

It's mind-blowing to think about, but there are a million different ways that our bodies could have potentially turned out when we were born.

While a lot of the genetic anomalies we can come across are rare, that still means they happen to somebody and when so many of them are possible, there's really no telling how any of us will turn out.

Of course, the rest of the animal kingdom works the same way, which can sometimes make it tricky to tell whether we're witnessing a genetic mutation or an entirely undiscovered species when a creature looks unusual enough.

But even when we know what's going on, that doesn't mean we can't be amazed by it.

Even if you've never met anyone with this condition, there's a good chance you know what heterochromia is.

And as we can see here, this glitch in the body's melanin production tends to leave affected cats with one yellow eye and one blue one.

But while that looks pretty striking and lovely, we ain't seen nothing yet.

That's because Olive — who comes to us from Derbyshire, England — has a pretty special twist on the somewhat rare mutation.

Rather than having eyes with solid differences in their colors, her eyes are both half-blue and half-yellow.

But while it may really stand out and seem almost alien-like, it's really just another form of heterochromia called sectoral heterochromia.

And if you're concerned about how this will affect Olive's vision, you probably don't need to worry.

According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, most cases of heterochromia have no effect on a creature's eyes or general health beyond the cosmetic differences we've seen in the cats shown above.

And when this isn't the case, the heterochromia tends to exist as a symptom of a different condition.

So if her vet hasn't mentioned anything, Olive is probably fine.
