Choosing to marry someone and spend the rest of your lives together is a big choice. Many couples are together for years before they take that next step. One thing they all hope for is that their families and friends are supportive of their choices and decision to tie the knot.
Sadly, not all families are supportive or happy when it comes to spouses and weddings.
He shared that his "best friend turned his wedding day into the biggest revenge party" he had ever seen.
At first, we were a bit confused by this, but, then we read the entire story and cannot believe that this couple pulled this off.
The friend is from Germany, and his girlfriend is from "Sinti" background. He said in Germany, they are looked down on.
"They are called gypsies, and supposedly are all scam artists, which have no real home and travel around to be always 2 steps ahead of the law on their heels," he said.
The mother called her all kinds of names and judged her, so her son "cut her off" for a year. Then, once they began talking again, she tried to create fake social media profiles to "pretend" her son had cheated on his girlfriend, just to get them to break up.
It backfired.
From giving fake addresses to trying to stop the wedding entirely, the mother began to try everything she could to stop the wedding.
She called caterers trying to change the menu, called the florist to cancel the flowers, and she even tried to cancel the entire venue for their wedding altogether.
On the day of their wedding, they decided to show a DVD before the ceremony. Thinking it was probably a photo montage or something, the mother watched.
It turned out to be a long video filled with all evidence of the mother trying to sabotage the couple, from the very start of their relationship.
"They had collected evidence, and witness accounts detailing exactly how sneaky Mil had tried to sabotage the wedding.
It started with an account of the food deliverer that she had tried several times to change the menu. Followed by the florist story how she had tried to cancel all the flowers for the wedding" he said.
The mother had to sit there in silence and watch the video.
Apparently, they had shown everyone else the video prior, so she would be the only one who was "shocked" by what they were doing. She was definitely surprised.
As it turns out, there were more surprises in store. The father spoke to the family and said that the bride and groom had gotten married a week prior to this "wedding."
"That way we could ensure there are no further evil plans to ruin this young coupes wedding, and we all had a wonderful wedding," he said.
The Reddit user said that since then, the mother's side of the family has come around and begun talking to the couple again, sharing the lies that the mother told them to get them to hate the couple.
However, the family still does not talk much with the mother at all.
That is one revenge story I'll never forget!
