People Are Turning Pasta Into Chips Because Apparently, Nothing Is Sacred Anymore

Look, I am not someone who shies away from carbs. In fact, I lean into carbs. I don't believe in lettuce buns, the keto diet, or sharing the plate of fries. I don't think anyone should have to decide between rice or potatoes — JUST GO WITH BOTH!

So naturally, when I heard people were FRYING PASTA, I knew I had to take a closer look, and to my horror, it was not what I expected at all.

It's no secret the internet is home to a lot of weird food "hacks" lately.

I blame the kids of today — they have way too much time on their hands! When I was 13, I was out working my part-time fast-food job, not coming up with ways to make pickles taste more delcious.

Who can forget when the internet nearly exploded because one young woman *rinsed* her ground beef.

It was terrifying to watch and when I tell you this video divided the internet, this video divided the internet.

If rinsing beef isn't your thing, you could try this TikTok trending treat of pickles *marinated* in a ranch dressing packet.

As unappealing as it looks right now, people claim it tastes delicious!

All you have to do is dump the dressing, shake the bottle and let it sit in the fridge for 24 hours!

If the idea of pickles make you fickle, you can always try the infamous tortilla hack!

Gone are the days of simply rolling your fabulous flower tortilla — it's all about the triangle fold-over now, baby!

One trend I'm not dying to try anytime soon is the super low-carb cloud bread, made from egg whites, sugar and corn starch.

Call me crazy, but I like my bread to be a little bit more on the carb-heavy side.

For those carb lovers out there, fear not — there is a new food trend to roll your eyes at! One that will also surely make your stomach confused, to say the least.

Honestly, I don't know how people come up with this stuff!

World, meet PASTA CHIPS. Yep, that's right — pasta chips!

In a new trend going viral on TikTok, people are cooking pasta, seasoning it, and then sticking it in the air fryer. While I love my air fryer dearly, I don't love what it's done to the culinary world.

I love pasta, and Lord knows, I love chips — but I can't imagine their fusion!

And also, who comes up with this stuff?! WHO HAS THE TIME to stick things in the air fryer and hope for the best?

Naturally, many people online were as concerned as I was.

Excuse me for caring about the well-being of my fellow mankind, and I'm sorry, but if we're airfrying pasta... maybe something is wrong with us.

However, some people are really, really into it!

User @Lim3Tre33 bragged about making pasta chips two nights in a row.

Honestly, I'm insanely impressed by that dedication.

I might have to make them just to see what the texture is like but I can't imagine them being anything but chewy.
