A Bride's Wedding Hacks Went Viral On TikTok For Her Money Saving Tactics

Planning a wedding can be incredibly stressful and above all else — expensive. However, there are certain things that couples can do to help alleviate some of the financial burdens.

Thanks to a viral video from TikTok user @sian.taylor_, couples can now learn from this bride's experience and potentially forego some of the more unnecessary and quite frankly redundant costs of a wedding.

The first thing that Sian recommends you cut from the budget: personalized wedding favors.

Most of the time, these get left behind. And even if people do pick them up off the table, they're usually lost shortly thereafter.

Instead, why not save that money and put it toward something useful? Like your honeymoon, for example.

Sian also says that eliminating "save-the-dates" is one of the best things you can do.

Sure, at one point in time save-the-dates served a purpose, but we're living in the digital age! Why spend hundreds of dollars when you could just as easily text or e-mail your guests and do things electronically instead?

You can save a bundle by choosing to not have real flowers at your wedding.

Make no mistake, florists can be damned expensive. It isn't uncommon for wedding flowers to cost upwards of $3000-$5000 dollars.

Instead, Sian suggests using silk flowers. You'll be able to find them at a fraction of the cost and you can even resell them if you choose.

Another huge cost-saving tip is to get married on a weekday, instead of a weekend.

The difference between getting married on a Friday night compared to a Saturday night is staggering. "Please explain to me why I'm going to pay an extra two-three grand for the exact same venue but on a different date? That's right — I'm not," Sian said.
