Mom Shares The 3 Things She Never Says To Her Children

All parents have different ways of parenting and raising their children. Some parents do things the way their own parents did things, while others stray away from cultural or traditional norms they were raised on.

Many parents on TikTok love to share their own parenting tips and hacks that they use for their own children, hoping to help other parents raising children, too.

One mom on TikTok shared three things she never says to her kids.

TikTok user and mom Destini Ann shared that there are three things she "never" says to her kids, but she says when she says "never," she means she really tries not to say them too often so that her kids can cope better in life growing up.

The first thing she says she "never says" is "I'm the adult, you're the child."

The mom says she never wants to belittle her kids for being a child. She tries to avoid saying anything like "I'm the adult, you're the child," and "I'm big, you're small," making them feel that what she says goes.

Instead, she tries to say, "You can trust mommy," making the kids feel more safe and trusting.

The second thing she never says is "stop crying."

The mom admits that all kids cry, and many times, they have specific reasons for doing so. Instead of telling kids to stop crying, she says things like "Why are you crying," or "What do you need?" hoping that her kids will understand what they're currently needing or missing.

The third thing she avoids saying is "good job."

The mom says general praise like"good job" can be passive and not always work for children. Instead, she tries to be specific in her praise so they know exactly what they did well and they can then continue to do those things.
