Billie Eilish Got Honest About The Response To Her Vogue Shoot: 'That’s Not OK'

Billie Eilish is firing back at her critics following some negative reactions to a magazine photoshoot.

The singer recently appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine in a pink satin number, showing off her newly-bleached hair.

While the reaction was mostly positive — when she posted the cover image on Instagram, it racked up more than 16 million likes — there were some detractors.

Here's the cover image.

Eilish posted the cover, along with some images from the photoshoot, in early May. Most commenters were positive, but some of the reaction definitely rubbed her the wrong way.

Eilish discussed the reaction in an interview with *Rolling Stone*.

She said she saw images comparing her recent photoshoot with an older Vogue cover.

"I saw a picture of me on the cover of Vogue [from a couple of years ago] with big, huge oversize clothes [next to the recent cover]. Then the caption was, like, 'That's called growth'," she said

She wasn't having it.

"I understand where they're coming from, but at the same time, I'm like, 'No, that's no okay,'" she said. "I'm not this now, and I don't need to grow from that."

As any of us would, she wants to do her own thing without being policed.

"My thing is that I can do whatever I want," she said. "It's all about what makes you feel good. If you want to get surgery, go get surgery. If you want to wear a dress that somebody thinks that you look too big wearing, [expletive] it. If you feel like you look good, you look good."

It's difficult for her to balance her fame and her private life.

Eilish has been in the glare of the public spotlight for so long that it's easy to forget she's only 19 years old.
