We Can All Agree That These 30 Mild Annoyances Drive Us Nuts

A new day may bring new opportunities, but it also yields the possibility of coming across a brand new irritation that we'll bitterly add to our growing list of annoyances.

Whether this is breaking off a pull tab while trying to open up a can of soda or coming across a pop tart that has a pathetic amount of icing on it, we're willing to bet you're already familiar with most of these mild displeasures shared on Reddit.

Having to completely tighten the top of a blender or else this happens.

"I wanted to make a quick smoothie before work but forgot to tighten the knife plate thingy," writes the Redditor who posted their smoothie mishap to the internet.

What a way to start and then proceed to ruin a morning. Hopefully, the rest of this person's day wasn't as terrible as having to clean up this mess and go to work empty-handed.

The amount of air in this bag of candy.

Okay, we understand chips being packaged with nitrogen gas to keep the potato slices fresh longer and protect them during transportation.

But the amount of air in this candy bag is actually ridiculous, and not to mention, super frustrating. A serious refund should, without a doubt, be in order.

A bus driver that's living a little too close to the edge.

Listen, there's nothing wrong with living life on the wild side, but as the original poster of this photo said, "Sometimes it’s good to take a chance, sometimes it really is not."

Yeah, trying to squeeze a large bus through a tunnel certainly falls under the 'it's not good to take a chance' category.

This orange that has very little citrus and plenty of skin.

Is it even an orange at this point? One Redditor offers an answer under the bizarre photo.

"Some of the skin will eventually become the flesh of the fruit so this was clearly an unripe orange," shares user thewarden106.

While this is the likely answer, we prefer the sentiments of another Redditor who wrote what we were are likely thinking, "That's Mother Nature's way of telling you that its [sic] okay to have a Twinkie today."

Indeed it is!

The large packaging for this teeny-tiny microchip.

The Reddit user who snapped this picture explained that their father ordered a microchip online and when it arrived, the chip was packaged in a cardboard box ridiculously too big for the item.

"Microchip, Macro packaging," Redditor JAB711 shares under the post, and they're absolutely right.

Imagine how much cardboard could have been saved by just sending the microchip in an envelope.

Misplaced labels on this butter that make it impossible to measure.

Surprisingly, the comment section under this Reddit post of immeasurable sticks of butter wasn't so supportive of what the original poster viewed as mildly irritating.

Instead, they shared their stance not on the terrible placement of the labels, but on the need to measure a stick of butter in the first place. This could be summed up in a few words: don't measure, just eyeball it.

"A stick is a 1/2 cup. If you actually are measuring teaspoons, cooking is a lost cause for you," writes Redditor SadAerie6351. Ouch!

Spillage of milk caused by simply opening up the carton.

"When you pull the inside tab to open this rice 'milk' the ricochet causes it to spill," explains the Redditor who shared their milk mishap to the internet. "They say don't cry over spilled milk but, this isn't actually milk so 😢."

Yeah, we're totally with the user here — any loss of milk is worth the shedding of tears.

So close, but still so far away.

Who designed this bathroom? We just want to have a chat. And first on the list is questioning how someone could have messed up so badly when installing this bathroom sink that's way too narrow for its protruding faucet.

Clearly, the designer didn't listen to the advice: measure twice, cut once. Even though there's no wood in sight, measuring twice would have worked wonders in creating a bathroom sink that's actually usable.

When your soda's pull tab doesn't open up the can.

We've all been there, we're about to open up a cold one when snap the pull tab on the can breaks off.

As you hold the detached tab just above the drink open-mouthed in disbelief, you might start wondering how the heck you'll be able to quench your thirst now that the worst thing to happen happened.

Fortunately, Redditors who have been in the same boat plenty of times offer a solution.

"Just smack it with a butter knife or spoon," writes one user.

Apparently, it's that easy peasy lemon squeezy.

This door that pushes open but is labelled as a pull entry.

Perhaps it was just Opposite Day (yup, the national day on January 25 is actually celebrated!) when this Redditor came across the confusing door.

The glass entryway is labeled with a sign that reads 'Tirare.' In Italian, this means pull. But as the picture clearly indicates, this door does not pull open.

Rather, it pushes open. If the owner of this structure was hoping to confuse people who enter, it's certainly getting the job done.

The pathetic amount of icing on this pop tart.

This sad pop tart certainly looks nothing like what its cardboard packaging promised it would. And we aren't the only ones to think so.

"They just wiped the butt of the machine with this one," writes Redditor Lexi_Ella_Bella_, under the deplorable photo.

The comment is oddly descriptive but somehow makes total sense. We just wish this pop tart would've got the respectful treatment it deserved, instead of this disgraceful mess.

A makeup sample that was packaged in a really big, and very unnecessary, box.

Here's another example of wasteful packaging that could have easily been avoided.

We can think of plenty of other solutions that would have removed the need for such unnecessary material waste. For example, the popular makeup company could have included the rather tiny sample in the customer's actual purchase.

Other options were available and seemingly the company just didn't bother taking any of them.

The fast food ice cream machine that's always broken.

Is there anything more infuriating than pulling up to your favorite fast food joint to only be told that their ice cream machine is broken? Yes, yes there is.

It's pulling up to your favorite fast food joint to only be told that their ice cream machine is broken multiple times in a row. And that's when the real frustration sets in as you begin to wonder just how many times a machine can be 'broken.'

Well, one Redditor shares an answer.

"More often than not, the reason is poor design of the machine," they write.

A design that the user explains can have unreadable error codes after a failed self-cleaning cycle. And if this happens often it leads to — yup, you guessed it — down machines that ruin days.

When you try to force all the toothpaste out of the tube and this happens.

Squeezing the last little bit of toothpaste out of a tube can lead to some serious aggravation.

No matter how much you try to perfectly flatten out the plastic to guide the remaining paste out of the opening, it always seems to contort itself into a scrunched-up mess. Every. Single. Time.

This horrifyingly cut pizza.

Okay, it has to be said — what kind of monster cuts a slice of pizza like this?

"Hope you got a refund or something," writes a Redditor who was just as mortified by the missing slice as we are.

Honestly, we too were hoping for some sort of refund until we discovered that the original poster ended up eating the pizza despite the horrid cut job.

This person takes your weird trapezoid and raises it to Oh Hell No.

I get it. Not everyone likes pizza crust, but this is not how you go about dealing with it.

Besides the sheer horror of that naked ring, the crust is still an integral part of the pizza eating experience, since it acts as a sauce-free handle.

I bet this person also eats their pizza with a knife and fork.

When the cord on earbuds or phone charges start to break.

The Redditor who snapped a pic of this earbud, which has clearly seen better days, revealed that the pair of headphones was the fifth replacement they needed in a span of three years.

"Maybe the problem isn't the headphones... I think you will need some holy water to rid yourself of demons or bad luck or something cause this ain't normal," writes Reddit user Yerffeynavredstop, who's seemingly puzzled by the post.

We're no strangers to dealing with a broken earbud or phone charger cable here and there but five in three years is almost impressive, in the worst way possible.

A glass bowl that surely could have used some bubble wrap during delivery.

Now, this is an online purchase that could have afforded some extra packaging material.

What used to be a glass bowl, arrived at this Redditor's doorstep in literal pieces. And it was these shards of glass shipped to the original poster that saw other Reddit users having a field day.

"10,000 piece 3D puzzle," writes one Redditor.

"Was this delivered by Ace Ventura?" asks another.

But as for our favorite, this comment certainly takes the cake: "Quantum physics says there is a probability that [the] bowl will self assemble back to its original state. Just give it time."

We'll be waiting here until the day finally comes around.

When there is no way to reach the toilet paper from, you know, the toilet.

The fact that this pic appears to have been taken in an accessible washroom is just icing on this terrible cake.

I could manage the awkward waddle over there, but if I were in need of a wheelchair, what would be the alternative?

Speaking of making things more difficult than necessary: this delivery truck.

A lot of businesses can't always guarantee a proper delivery zone for vehicles, which can cause some awkwardness, especially in small parking lots.

However, that's no excuse for parking sideways across multiple accessible parking spaces. That's just infuriating.

Well, now that I've noticed the misplaced tiles, I can't unsee them.

If this happened in my own bathroom or kitchen, I'd feel the need to tear the whole floor out and start over.

It's a good thing that a lot of floor tiles come in sheets now, because it makes it so much harder to mess up a pattern so badly.

Bad stickers are annoying at the best of times.

But when that sticker is also covering important information, such as usage instructions, then it's just plain bad design.

A clear sticker would have solved this problem. That or a different box design entirely.

I swear, delivery people do this on purpose.

There's a special place in hell for delivery drivers who regularly treat packages with such disrespect.

If I had my way, it would be like normal life, but every item needed for basic survival and entertainment would be soggy and broken.

Supererdry.

Somehow, I don't think I'd trust these flip-flops to stay dry. I mean, they can't even get their name right on the straps.

Well, *Goblet of Fire* is the worst movie, so maybe this is a subtle jab.

That, or someone forgot to check the box art for the previous years when they were putting this one together.

And then after making such an egregious error, made sure to get it right for the rest of the series.

I guess this person's walking their bike the rest of the way home.

According to the user, they were 3.6 kilometers, just over two miles, away from home when this happened.

As long as the other pedal is intact, they probably managed to ride home, but awkwardly.

You know that special hell where delivery drivers are? The 'bad landlord' hell is right next door.

Their hell involves faucets that drip intermittently for eternity, noisy neighbors who are never reprimanded no matter how much they complain, and the thermostat always set just slightly too hot or too cold to be comfortable.

Also, the rent is raised every other month without any warning.

When an eraser doesn't know how to do its job.

We've all come across this type of eraser; it's the one that literally does more harm than good.

Instead of erasing your mistakes, it creates a set of new ones in the form of permanent pink streak marks.

And worst of all, you often don't even know if a pencil's eraser top will create this annoying smudge until it's too late and the damage is already done.

Paying for a large drink but only getting a medium-sized amount.

This is undeniably frustrating. But one Redditor raises a good point about the deception of volume between the two cups.

"These things can be quite deceiving because a very small increase in diameter can make a big difference to volume. Would be interested to know the actual volumes," they write.

As would we! So until then, we will remain absolutely bitter about this clear rip-off.

A basketball hoop that's in the middle of the backboard.

We're not entirely sure if this frustratingly-placed basketball hoop came already poorly positioned or if someone just really messed up the installation.

If we're honest, we're sort of leaning towards the latter as you can faintly make out the holes where the hoop should have been installed just below. What a yikes!
