TikToker Shares How Life In A Castle Isn't Always The Fairytale You’d Imagine

Ludovica Sannazzaro is a 19-year-old TikToker who went viral by sharing videos showing the "realities" of life in a castle.

Born into the long-standing castle called "Castello Sannazzaro", the home has been passed down through her family for 28 generations.

Though she shares that there were times when growing up the castle did indeed feel like a fairy tale, she also uses her platform to point out the "less-pretty" realities that come along with it.

Castello Sannazzaro sits in a forested region of Piedmont, Italy.

Giving walk-through tours of the castle wards, rooms, and grounds, she highlights the beautiful architecture while outlining the positives and negatives of daily maintenance.

Located in a forested region of Italy, the castle grounds span 107,639 square feet.

The huge castle is also being used as a bed and breakfast.

With 45 rooms and 15 bedrooms, Castello Sannazzaro also doubles as a bed and breakfast.

In an interview with Insider, Sannazzaro says that "When I was younger, I used to watch Disney movies with princesses, and I could pretend that I was them running around the castle or dancing in the ballroom".

Sannazzaro claims that not everything about castle life is a pretty fairytale.

But apparently, not all of growing up was fun and games. Learning quickly that most viewers assumed living in a castle meant constant pampering, Sannazzaro felt the need to reveal the opposite side of the coin.

She responds to assumptions about her lifestyle with a simple "actually, no"

In her interview with Insider she goes on to say that "when I started the account, everyone was like, 'Oh, cool! You have maids and butlers and people that serve you.' I was like, 'Actually, no.'"

Sannazzaro goes on to list a few of the inconveniences of castle life.

Opening up further, she reported that living in a castle also meant that Wifi was always spotty, things constantly got lost, you'd have to walk for hours to find anyone, mowing the lawn took three days, and that cleaning a single tower was a day-long venture. (Mind you, she did also say that they had a housekeeper and a gardener to help them out.)

Now, her account helps her to explore her family's heritage.

Claiming that starting the TikTok account has helped her view her home and family's history in a new light, Sannazzaro says that every day she continues to explore her heritage.

What do you think of Sannazzaro's videos?

What do you think of her "life in a castle isn't all fun and games" mindset? To me it sounds a bit like growing up everywhere else; there's time for games, and there's time for chores... only her games include a giant ballroom and secret towers.

Would you love to live in a castle?
