Woman Shares Important Tip About Flying Alongside Babies

Every mother's worst travel nightmare is being stuck on a plane with their crying baby. It's a truly horrendous situation to be in and it's something countless mothers have to face on an everyday basis.

Now that travel has started to resume, TikTok user @jenniferfulwiler recently made a video offering an important travel tip for mothers who happen to find themselves in such a situation.

TikTok user @jenniferfulwiler would like to issue an apology on behalf of all mothers flying with newborns.

She's sorry that the sound of a crying baby isn't something that you're used to at this point in your life.

"You know in a lot of cultures, the sound of fussing babies is seen as a sign of abundance and God's blessing," Jen says.

"Instead, our dumb postmodern culture sees babies as a burden."

Jen says that society simply expects women not to bring their newborns into public spaces like planes, churches, and restaurants.

If they do, they're expected to behave like adults, rather than the children that they are.

Jen continues by saying that this attitude is both sad and indicative of a dying culture.

She also argues that this warped philosophy puts impossibly unrealistic expectations on moms:

"A truly thriving culture would welcome those babies and all the inconveniences that come with them," Jen says matter-of-factly.

So if you see Jen on a plane, and her children are in tears — know that she is far more stressed out than you are.

Perhaps instead of casting a judgmental glare, you could instead throw her a supportive smile. Let her know that both she and her children are welcome in your presence.

And if you happen to have an extra snack, that wouldn't hurt either...
