Men Share Compliments That They Get From Women That Make Their Day

Men hardly ever receive compliments. From the time we're young boys, we're taught to compartmentalize our emotions, to man up, toughen up, and to never allow ourselves to show weakness.

With mental health issues becoming more and more prevalent in our society, men are becoming more vocal about their desire for praise. Have a look as these men share compliments they get from women that make their day.

Many men have never been complimented by a woman.

"A complete stranger said "If i[sic] looked like you, I would be smiling all day long" That one stuck with me, maybe because it's the only time I've been complimented by a woman." - Reddit u/3283426546

While Redditor jazzyfizzle0 was out at the bar buying a round of drinks, the server leaned over and told him he looked like the adult film star, James Deen.

At that moment, he wasn't exactly sure if it was a compliment but has since decided to take it as such.

How would you rate your ex?

This Reddit user's ex-girlfriend once told him that if there was ever such a thing as a Yelp for humans, that she'd be sure to give him an outstanding review.

That's pretty high praise from an ex.

Men deal with self-esteem issues, too.

"My girlfriend told me her friends all thought I was very attractive and in really good shape," writes Reddit user TheMagnificentBean. "As someone with self-esteem issues regarding my looks, that was the one compliment that cheers me up every time I think about it."

He got it from his momma...and his papa.

Reddit user Send_Poems writes, "I was paying for a pizza for supper and as the girl at the till was tallying the order she cut herself off mid-sentence to say "Wow your eyes are gorgeous!" I turned redder than the tomato sauce."

"There was a girl who had my name entered into her phone as "Mmmmmmmm.""

Good for you, Jaruseleh. I can imagine what that must of felt like. I mean, I really can't but I'm still very very happy for you.

"I was outside kicking a soccer ball around with some friends. A girl I kind of knew walked by and stopped to watch for a while. I asked if she'd like to join and she said "oh, no, I hate soccer. I was just looking at your abs."

Sometimes you have to just let 'em know.

After a long shift tending bar, Hughesy1997 was eager to head home and go to sleep. Before he could leave, he was approached by a young lady who said that she wanted to tell him how good-looking she thought he was.

If a man makes you feel safe, you should tell him.

The smallest gesture has the capability to completely brighten someone's day. Redditor PlasmaPizzaSticks says that the best compliment he ever got was when he was told by a friend that he was easy to talk to.

Men want to know when they're having a good hair day.

This Reddit user was told that their hair had a lot of body. They didn't have any idea what the compliment meant at the time but assumed that it was probably a good thing.
