Parents Share Times Their Child Cried For The Most Absurd Reasons

Kids don't make a lot of sense.

You could probably guess that from this post or from these people who shared why they don't want to have kids.

Another thing kids do that doesn't make a lot of sense? They cry. A lot.

Here, 10+ parents share the times their child cried over the most absurd things.

Over an imaginary fire truck.

Kids sure are creative. One little guy got himself all riled up when the imaginary door on his imaginary fire truck wouldn’t open, and he was stuck inside.

Give the kid an Oscar for that performance!

Over their parent's profession.

NBC

"My daughter said I was going to work at the post office with her when she grows up. I told her I’d be a teacher by then and couldn’t work at the post office. I spent 45 minutes consoling her and now I’m obligated to work for the post office in 15 years." - Redditor SpaceAceMathews

Over Mom missing their freak-out.

They weren't about to let Mom miss the main show! When this Redditor's son realized that they were missing from their audience, they went and grabbed her, and then carried on crying.

Over a paintbrush color.

"My daughter had a breakdown because her paintbrush wasn't green. Mind you, there was a green paintbrush within reach, but the fact that the one in her hand wasn't green was a problem." - Redditor InannasPocket

Over missing their parent's wedding.

This one makes sense. That is, until you learn that they were crying over a wedding that happened seven years before they were born.

Yeah, a lot of people don't want ghosts at their wedding.

Over not wanting the ice cream... that they just finished.

"My girlfriend-at-the-time texted me when she was looking after her 3 year old brother. 'Josh is crying because he doesn't want an icecream.' He already finished eating it. This was 15 minutes go." - Redditor KingGumboot

Over being wrapped like the wrong burrito.

What's your favorite burrito? If you said "chicken and rice," you'd be just like this kid.

His parents wrapped him up like a burrito for bed, but since they apparently wrapped him like a bean burrito and not like a chicken and rice burrito, he lost it.

Over getting the chicken nugget they wanted.

"They wanted another chicken nugget, so I gave them another chicken nugget. Breakdown," wrote this Redditor.

Maybe they really wanted 10 chicken nuggets and one just wasn't enough? We'd cry over that.

Over their birthday.

"She just started crying and said I broke her heart. After a few times of asking and calming her down, she told me it was because I ruined her birthday. Her birthday had been like 8 months before. I tried asking her how I ruined her birthday, but those were the only two sentences she would say." - Redditor ClearBunnie

Over mortality.

Death is a pretty sensitive subject, which is why it's surprising this toddler knew all about it.

They started crying over not wanting to die and asking, "How will I talk? How will I eat?”

Over a dog eating their food.

To be honest, we'd cry over this too. Food is no joke, and this kid had a dog eat the pretzel they dropped.

In the midst of crying so hard, they dropped the entire cup of pretzels on the floor. You can probably guess what happened.

Over accidentally letting out a fart.

"My toddler loves being tickled, so I was tickling him one day. He let out a huge fart and immediately started crying and screaming. I asked him why he was screaming and he replied, 'I was saving that for later.'" - Redditor ShutTheFrontDoor

Over their sibling looking out *their* window.

"My youngest was mad because his brother was looking out of 'his' window instead of the other one," this Redditor wrote.

Maybe they had cooler sights they didn't want others to see?

Over their parent pretending to eat their sock.

"When I showed him it was behind my head he complained that it was all gross and covered in food bits. Then threw it on the trash, went to his room and cried into his pillow." - Redditor gn0xious

Over not being allowed to put crayons in their ear.

"Full-on dropping to the ground, wailing and sobbing like I'd killed our cat in front of her. I would tell her we don't put stuff in our ears, which would make her sob louder." - Redditor justhereforjustno

Over a cookie.

"My two year old son heard my wife crumble up a receipt in the car tonight and for the next hour lost his mind that we had a cookie we were holding out on him. No amount of explaining could fix the situation." - Redditor flypaper1001

Over not being allowed to wear two hats to bed.

Clearly, this child loves hats.

But we're sure his love for them would run out once they learned that wearing two hats to bed at once isn't very comfortable.

When they got what they wanted for dinner.

"My 6 year old threw a fit tonight cause we got him a cheeseburger for dinner. He asked for a cheeseburger," shared this Redditor.

We're starting to think children make no sense.

Over Mom eating the food they didn't want.

This Redditor's mom made extra careful to ask before eating the food the little brother didn't want.

Despite saying they didn't want it, they would wail if mom ate it. Make up your mind, kid!

When you can't pick up the book you want...because you're sitting on it.

Would this be the baby equivalent of a snake eating its own tail? Poor little guy, it's so rare these days to see kids reaching for a book that this almost breaks my heart.

Put down the camera mom and dad, and help this little tyke out!

Over not being able to swim in the sea.

First of all, this kid looks like he's 2-years-old. How in the heck does he even know how to swim at all?

And according to dad's caption (and the winter coats) the temperature was hovering just above 6 degrees. Kids are truly fearless.

When all you want is Chef Boyardee, but then you change your mind.

Instagram user @tacocat.herine explained that "She wanted ravioli for dinner. I made ravioli for dinner. She didn’t want ravioli for dinner."

Maybe she's upset because the ravioli didn't have any tomato sauce? I'm just saying...

Over not being allowed to eat batteries for breakfast.

Instagram user @thekimromero writes, "Mikey’s mad because I wouldn’t let him eat a battery for breakfast.... total meltdown & it’s much too early!! Is anyone else part of the a-hole parent club this morning??"

Over not being allowed to go inside the dishwasher.

Oddly enough, I can empathize with this kid's grief. When I was a child, I was fascinated with climbing inside the dryer.

Which was fine, until one day when my brother closed the door behind me and turned it on.

Over getting exactly what they asked for.

As Instagram @bripeds explained via their post, "He wanted the yellow cup, so I gave him the yellow cup. Now his life is ruined."

Sometimes you get what you want, other times you get what you need. And most times when you're a toddler, you can't tell which is which.

Over not being able to ride the bus.

Let me rephrase that: over not being able to ride the bus that they saw on TV.

What do you even say in a situation like that? Do you just let them cry it out?

Over running out of toes to paint.

Kiddo, I get that you only have 10 toes but look at your hands, for goodness sake! I don't see any paint on those fingers, so quit your crying and get to work!

Over an imaginary backpack.

This little bruiser apparently threw a fit on the way to the park because his mom forgot to bring his cycling backpack.

The only problem is that this kid does not (nor has he ever) owned a cycling backpack. What the heck is that, anyway? And don't say "a backpack for cycling."

When their parents tried to take away their "sticker."

Mom captioned the photo "He does NOT want me to take his "sticker" away. At least it might absorb the tears!"

I hate to break it to you little dude, but that's not a sticker. Oh and this photo is definitely showing up on your wedding day.

Over being told to stop biting the cat.

I don't even think this kid has a single tooth, what's he doing trying to bite a cat? All I can say is that I hope it's a patient kitty. Otherwise, this little guy is going to learn a very hard and painful lesson.

Over being denied their meal of choice.

That meal also happens to be cat food. I don't have kids and don't claim to know anything about them, but would it be the worst thing in the world to let the little guy nibble on some kibble?

I think he'd figure out pretty quick that it was gross.

Over their parents refusing to turn-off the sun.

Clearly, this little guy was carving out his first pumpkin and was probably blown away when he saw the Jack-O-Lantern light up.

As a fellow fright fan, I can totally understand where the emotion comes from.

Over killing their "best friend."

Before you start to form any morbid thoughts in your head, it should be mentioned that this child's "best friend" happened to be a ladybug that found its way into the laundry room.

I'm sure she'll get over it.

Over being told that they aren't allowed to eat trash.

Straight from the bin, no less. I don't know what's sadder, the fact that this little boy wants to eat garbage or the look on his face at being told that he can't.

Over not being allowed to hold their own poop in their hands.

I really don't know what to say other than this post has given me a newfound respect for parents.

That, and Freud would no doubt have a field day with this kid.
