Man Changes The Gardening Game With A No-Dig Flowerbed Hack

Who here is a gardening beginner like me? Raise your hand, please. Well, as you probably already know, there are tons of gardening tricks online. I wish I could list them all but for now, let's concentrate on a garden bed.

I just stumbled upon this TikTok video that assures that you can create one without any digging. OMG, what? You need to see this, alright.

Usually, this involves lots of digging. I'm not a fan of that, ha, ha! So if you're like me, you'll love this much simpler and easier solution. Check it out.

A TikTok user going by the handle @brandontgentry shared a brilliant hack with his audience.

He created a beautiful garden bed in front of his house, all without digging. Wow! Honestly, I had no idea this was even possible.

So how did he do it, you ask? Let's find out.

First thing's first, you need to get yourself some cardboard, black mulch, and topsoil. Then, you're going to rake your existing grass to make the perfect surface for your garden bed.

Now, you smother that grass with recycled cardboard.

That's basically the first layer of your new garden bed. Then, you need to hose down those cardboard boxes with a lot of water. The cardboard needs to be very moist for this to work.

After that, you can cover the cardboard with topsoil.

The trick to this garden hack is that over time, the cardboard and topsoil will break down, and create a beautiful garden bed. And the best part is, no grass will peak through.

For those wondering how he got his plants to root, @brandontgentry did dig through the layer of cardboard when planting his flowers.

Can you believe that?

And you didn't need to do any digging either. I can totally get behind that. It will take about two months for the garden bed to grow, but I think it's worth the wait, no? What do you think?

I have to admit all of this is new to me.

I had no idea you can create a garden bed as easily as that. And as it turns out, many folks on TikTok have been freaking out over this super cool gardening hack.

Apparently, you can also accomplish this with newspapers.

They will break down a little faster than cardboard. So you may want to opt for this method if you're more pressed for time. Either way, it will work out the same.

So have you done this before?
