Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Welcome Baby Girl Named Lilibet Diana

Congratulations are in order for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who welcomed their baby girl Lilibet Diana on Friday, as reported by People.

"It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world," read a statement from the couple.

"Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at 11:40 a.m. in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA. She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home," the statement continued, as per People.

"Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales."

"This is the second child for the couple, who also have a two-year-old son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor."

"The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family."

The pair took to their Archewell website to inform fans themselves with a personal message.

"On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili," the pair began.

"She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we've felt from across the globe."

The statement concluded: "Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family."

As fans may recall, the pair shared their excitement over the arrival of a baby girl during their tell-all interview with Oprah in March.

"To have a boy then a girl — what more can you ask for?" Harry said at the time.

He continued: "Grateful, having any child, any one or a two would have been amazing, but to have a boy and then a girl . . . now we've got our family and we've got four of us."

The pair's rainbow baby comes after Meghan Markle opened up about her devastating miscarriage last summer.

Of course, this makes the news of Lilibet's birth is all the more meaningful.

As for the pair welcoming more kids in the future, Prince Harry has confirmed they're only planning on having two.

"Two it is," Harry told Oprah during their sitdown.

Social media is filled with fans wishing the pair all the best with their sweet bundle of joy.

While no photos have been released yet, we're sure fans will be seeing something soon!

Since stepping down from their roles as senior members of the royal family, the pair we able to keep the news of their baby girl's birth private until Sunday.

Fans have taken to social media to express their joy for the pair.

Congratulations to this beautiful family!
