'Drunk Dude' Breaks Into Airbnb Only To Find Out 3 Cops Were Renting It

While it's not something we'd want to make a habit of, many of us can remember at least one time where we woke up in an unexpected place after a hard-drinking night out.

And whether it was because of worried calls from our parents, the realization that we'll flunk out out of college if we go on like this, or even a brush with the cops, there's something about nights like those that have a way of making us re-evaluate our relationships with alcohol.

But for one late night reveller, that brush was even closer than he ever would have expected after his drunken stumblings almost turned him into a not-so-smooth criminal.

On May 28, Montana sheriff's deputy Charles Pesola posted a TikTok from the Airbnb he had rented with two of his colleagues in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

As WISN reported, the three deputies were in Milwaukee for emergency vehicle training and at 2:30 am, each had awoken to the sound of somebody shuffling around their rental.

As they explained in the full video, they didn't think much of these noises until the morning as they thought each other were making them.

After they discovered that one of the doors was open, however, they soon discovered an unidentified 19-year-old "drunk dude" asleep in one of the house's beds.

As Pesola put it, "This silly guy found the one Airbnb in all of downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, loaded with cops. He woke up in handcuffs."

After Milwaukee police arrived, the teen realized what had happened and told them that while he had woken up in random places before, this was the first time his drunken wandering led him into a stranger's house.

According to WISN, the young man had no memory of where he was, where he came from, or where he even thought he was supposed to be.

For that reason, although Milwaukee police arrested him, he did not face any citations or charges. As far as all parties were concerned, he had just stumbled into the wrong house while intoxicated.

As Deputy Matt Vander Ark — one of the deputies from Montana — said, "He made a mistake. It's OK. We're gonna get over it, and at the end of the day, we can smile about it."

For his part, while it's clear that Pesola considers this a bizarre situation, he also considers it a lucky one for the teen.

As he said, "What if that dude stumbled into a bed with a kid, or my wife. I mean, it could have been a different morning, right? So wrong place, wrong time, lucky place, lucky time, that there's dudes that actually know how to handle that."

The deputies' full story and the amused reactions of the arresting officers can be seen here in the full video.
