Influencer Takes Heat For Saying Walks And Coffee Are Unacceptable First Dates

What's your ideal first date?

It's a tricky question, of course. First dates can be magical, they can be profoundly awkward, and they can be anything in between.

A TikTok influencer recently ran into some opposition in the comments section after laying out her very particular requirements for anyone privileged enough to get a date with her.

Makeup artist and influencer Kornelija Slunjski shared some thoughts on TikTok.

Slunjski came out with a video called "NO to zero effort men", along with the hashtags #datinglife2021 and #datingtoday.

In the video, Slunjski made it clear that going for a walk or getting a coffee are absolutely unreasonable expectations for a first date.

So what does she think makes a good first date?

Lots of people would probably agree that a casual coffee or pleasant stroll makes for a good introductory date (and many of us have had these dates), but Slunjski says she expects dinner.

As she puts it, she has a Nespresso at home, so there's no need for a coffee date.

Agree? Disagree?

Slunjski opened the floor for discussion. I think it's somewhat predictable how this is going to turn out, but credit to her for asking what others thought.

The comments didn't agree.

It's easy to make the argument that Slunjski is simply laying out her priorities, which she has a right to do.

On the other hand, by framing this as practical dating advice that everyone can learn from, she's kind of throwing shade on the concept of a coffee date.

It was hard to find much support for her.

The overall consensus from her comments section seemed to be that she's making demands that are entirely unreasonable. There were also plenty of people saying that going for a walk or a coffee would make for a perfectly reasonable first date.

If you're broke, do not apply.

This commenter took a shot at 'broke' dudes and Slunjski agreed, which might not be the best look. Like, I thought it was about respect and not money.

Nice burn.

Slunjski appears desperate to come off as high class, but at least commenter noted that she should probably learn how to properly hold a wine glass if she wants to be a player in high society.

Haters gonna hate.

In a follow-up video in which she implied she owns a private jet, Slunjski tried to dunk on her haters.

What do you think of this? Should we feel free to bluntly lay out our expectations in a relatioship, or is this influencer simply demanding too much? Let us know in the comments!
