There are plenty of people who are desperate for a haircut right about now. So, what if I was to tell you that you can give yourself an awesome haircut in the comfort of your own home?

To be honest, I'm a bit of both. So I don't blame you if you're the same as me. Okay, let's start with the nitty-gritty. It all started with one user on TikTok.

Here's the story.

A woman named Ruthie shared an interesting haircutting video with her TikTok audience. She describes the motivation behind it as "impulsive." Once you see it, you'll know exactly what she means by that, ha, ha!

In the video, Ruthie brushes her long curly hair and puts it in a high ponytail.

She then pulls it over her head and holds it in one hand. With the other hand, she grabs the scissors. Can you sense what's coming?

Well, as you have probably guessed already, she snaps a large chunk of her hair off.

OMG, what? I can't believe she just did that. I don't like the sound of that, ha, ha! Then, she proceeds to cut more hair off from the front to create bangs.

If that wasn't shocking enough, what comes next might really surprise you.

When Ruthie lets her hair loose, she reveals a cute shaggy haircut. She calls it a "mullet" but it actually looks quite good. If you want to see what I mean, check out the video.

When other people with curly hair saw this video, they literally freaked out.

I guess many of them thought of doing something like it but didn't have the guts. So when Ruthie did it, and it looked so good, it definitely started a new trend. Now more videos of folks doing this DIY haircut have popped up on TikTok.

So, what do you think of this DIY haircut idea?

Would you do it, too? I actually thought about cutting my hair when I had it in a ponytail, but instead, I just get my fiancé to do it hee-hee!
