A Mother Was Threatened With Criminal Trespassing At Six Flags Because Of Her Shorts

One mother's recent family vacation to Six Flags was a rollercoaster ride — and not the good kind.

Things turned sour when the mother was harassed for wearing short shorts. Soon, she was threatened with criminal trespassing and kicked out of the park, all in front of her daughter.

Believe it or not, what someone wears sometimes causes the most controversy online.

Whether it's because they aren't wearing enough or because a student at school was showing her bra strap, we've seen time and time again that people get very mad about these things.

This is especially true when the warm weather starts to roll around.

People wear less and less simply because...it's hot out.

But everyone has their own opinion on what remains suitable, even at a place like Six Flags.

One mother won't be returning to Six Flags anytime soon.

Bailey Breedlove, who is autistic, was just trying to enjoy her family's vacation at Frontier City Six Flags in Oklahoma City when she was stopped by security.

They claimed that the shorts she was wearing were too short.

In a Facebook post, she wrote that the experience was "traumatizing."

The trouble all started when her daughter was yelled at by a park police officer for rolling down a hill on her heelies while her mom held her hand.

The officer then took issue with her shorts.

"She proceeded to follow me and grabbed my shoulder to turn me around and proceeded to tell me my shorts were 'too short.'"

This was despite the fact that she was welcomed into the park earlier on in the day with no issue. "I committed no crime," Bailey wrote.

Since she's autistic, she wrote that she has a hard time talking to officers.

"She followed me yelling and calling for backup. Then your incompetent manager showed up and began body shaming me."

She was told that she would have to go change if she wanted to remain in the park.

This happened after she had agreed to buy new shorts to allow her family to enjoy their vacation.

"I was then pushed and escorted toward the entrance." But right when they were about to leave, a female officer stopped them.

"She pulled out her cuffs and demanded my ID. When we asked for probable cause their answer was 'because they are the police,' Breedlove wrote.

In an updated version of her post, the mom later confirmed that the officer was not an Oklahoma City police officer.

Other "unlawful tactics" included the officers refusing to provide them with their badge numbers.

"I was terrified I was about to go to jail over a pair of shorts," she wrote.

Meanwhile, her daughter was shown in the video next to her, crying hysterically over the thought of her mom being sent to jail.

Breedlove then called out the park directly: "Your policies are vague and confusing and the way you body shame and discriminate is unlawful."

She demanded a refund for "the trauma caused to my family over a pair of shorts on a hot day." She specified that she's already contacted the police and an attorney.

Since her post went viral, Six Flags released a statement.

They told The Post that Breedlove “was initially stopped because her shorts exposed a significant portion of her buttocks.”

They also added that she was escorted from the park “because of her behavior towards the police, our team members, and other park guests."

They insisted that they do not "body shame" and after doing an internal review, found Breedlove in the wrong.

She “was given multiple opportunities to change or cover up, but refused," they wrote.

While the park certainly isn't on her side, the mother has found support in many people online.

Most of the comments beneath the video show that people thought the park was out of line.

"Are you serious Park 'Police' what rejects.. a bully, power trip. They need to be fired Asap for harassment, their [expletive] and lack of common sense," one wrote.

Some also pointed out the sketchiness of Six Flags changing their dress code policy on their website overnight.
