Video Of Ben Affleck Goes Viral After Woman Unknowingly Rejected Him On Dating App

Dating in 2021 does not seem easy. In fact, it seems really, really difficult. Forget that there's a global pandemic — people don't just meet anymore. People don't just go on dates anymore. Kids these days meet online and then "hang out" in random places. Now, call me old fashion, but this is not how a true, long-lasting relationship should start.

As it turns out, though, actor and divorcé Ben Affleck is trying to find love online, and for that, I think he's very brave.

I'm glad I met my husband my husband when I did, I don't think I could handle online dating.

While the websites do seem easy enough to grasp, it's the phone apps that really send my head for a spin.

How are you supposed to know if you're compatible with someone from just seeing their picture for 3 seconds before swiping right or left?

However, it's not just your children using these apps, it's celebrities, too!

Of course, they don't use the same ones as "regular" people, they use an exclusive app called Raya.

Raya only allows public figures onto the app to make it easier for rich, beautiful people to date each other — as if they need more help from the universe!

As it turns out, a young woman named Nivine Jay recently matched with actor Ben Affleck on this Raya app, only to quickly delete him because she assumed it was a catfish.

Which I would do too, to be honest. I mean, if they let me on the Raya app, which they wouldn't... but if they did!

However, Ben was quick to send her a personalized video on Instagram confirming that it *was* him that she matched with on the app.

"Nivine! Why did you unmatch me? It's me," the actor can be heard saying in the video.

Nivine shared the video in a TikTok uploaded to her account.

She captioned the video:

"Thinking about the time I matched with Ben Affleck on raya and thought it was fake so I unmatched him and he sent me a video on Instagram."

Naturally, social media has been having a little *too much fun* with the video.

I do love the fact that he was committed to proving he wasn't a catfish.

On on hand, a lot of people thought the TikTok was hilarious.

"ben affleck refuses to hide his mid life crisis and i respect him for that," tweeted one user.

"ben affleck reclaimed his title as the Most Divorced Man in Hollywood i see," tweeted another.

On the other hand, some people felt it was intrusive of Ben to DM her after she unmatched him.

"the tone was a little weird. I understand what he meant but it was a little odd, to me at least," tweeted one user.

"Yeah I saw the video finally, and he isn't being creepy," tweeted one Ben fan.

"It was obvious to me that he was trying to let her know he was really Ben Affleck. If she chose to not go forward with him that's fine, but seems mean to blast him like that," they concluded.

Others just want to know if she actually *will* go on a date with the Hollywood actor.

"that girl literally had a chance to [expletive] ben affleck and chose a viral tiktok video instead," joked one user.

I still think this is one of the best things to happen so far this year.

Hey, it's been a slow year — who can blame me?
