IHOP Employee Embarrassed After Unknowingly Turning Away Adam Sandler

Adam Sandler is one of the most humble celebrities of all time. I know this doesn't come as a surprise to many people, but I'm serious. Adam is so humble, he recently got turned away from an IHOP because the server didn't realize who he was.

Anyone who has worked in a restaurant will tell you it's incredibly stressful. And if you don't know what I'm talking about, please consider yourself ~very~ lucky.

One of the few perks of working in the food industry (besides half-priced entrees) is running into famous celebrities — if you're fortunate enough to live where they do.

However, can you imagine running into one of the biggest celebrities of all time and not even realizing it?

That's what happened to TikTok user Dayanna Rodas recently while she was working her shift at an IHOP.

Taking to the social media platform, the server explained her story.

Restaurant staffers sharing their celebrity experiences on TikTok has become a trend.

Personally, I love seeing how my favorite celebrities treat those who work in the food service industry. If they're not nice to serves, I don't want to support them — simple as that!

One of the more recent viral TikToks was from user @theanniebond, who gushed about how amazing Keanu Reeves was to serve.

She explained Keanu came in for lunch with a bunch of "industry stiffs."

He then proceeded to order a dozen oysters for himself "like it's a casual thing to do."

She went on to say he was "so polite" and "so humble" and left a generous tip while picking up the table's bill.

However, TikTok user @dayanna.rodas sadly does not have a similar sweet story because she didn't even realize she was talking to Adam Sandler while working her shift at IHOP.

Sharing the experience on Twitter, TikTok shows CCTV footage inside the restaurant, with Dayanna telling Adam it’ll be a 30-minute wait.

After a brief moment, the actor and his daughter politely decide to leave.

Everyone in the comments was praising Adam for not being a ~diva~ about the wait.

I can't imagine the feeling of not knowing you're chatting with Adam Sandler, but at least he cemented my stance as a fan for life!

If anything, it was a super relatable moment.

"Saw the video of Adam Sandler leaving with his kid because he didn’t want to wait for a table to open up at IHOP, and I’ve never related to a celebrity more than today," tweeted one fan.

However, not everyone felt the server did something wrong.

"They already get all the breaks in the world, why do they need anymore?" tweeted one user.

"what makes Sandler special he can’t wait like us normies?" echoed another.

To be fair, I don't think Adam would want that kind of treatment!

"I’m an Adam Sandler fan but I’d have made him wait too. At IHOP we’re all equal," joked one fan.

I mean, Adam is smart enough to know IHOP is not worth that long of a wait.

I love me some strawberry banana pancakes, but I'm not waiting around that long for something I can make at home.
