Katie Holmes Shares Rare Photos Of Suri On Her 15th Birthday

Few names and faces have the kind of instant recognition as Katie Holmes does. The always gorgeous and incredibly talented actress has been a household name for nearly 25 years.

But despite being one of the most in-demand stars in Hollywood, Katie successfully manages to lead an incredibly private life. Today, however, Katie is going against the norm by publicly wishing her Daughter Suri a happy 15th birthday!

Celebrities can be private people.

There are plenty of celeb parents and couples who prefer to keep their children and relationships out of the spotlight.

Kaite Holmes is one of those celeb mothers. But she recently made an exception for her daughter Suri's birthday!

Katie's big break occurred in 1998 when she was cast in the hit teen drama series, *Dawson's Creek*.

Dawson's Creek was a coming-of-age series that revolved around the interwoven love lives of four friends.

The show's six-season run was hailed by fans and critics alike and is considered one of the defining series of the early '00s.

Katie was cast to play Joey Potter: the principal love interest of Pacey Witter (played by Joshua Jackson).

She appeared in all 128 episodes and received 5 Teen Choice Award nominations for her illuminating performance.

Shortly after the series wrapped, Katie was introduced to her future husband — Tom Cruise.

The would-be couple met for the first time back in 2004; Holmes was enquiring about a role in Cruise's upcoming Mission: Impossible 3.

Not long after, they were dating.

Katie and Tom's first public appearance was in Rome, Italy.

While Tom was in town to accept the David di Donatello Lifetime Achievement Award.

When the couple arrived back home, Tom made his infamous appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show to confess his love.

In no time at all, the couple was engaged and made the announcement that they were also expecting!

On April 18th, 2006, Tom and Katie (affectionately dubbed TomKat by the media) welcomed their newborn daughter to the world.

They decided to name the baby Suri.

According to a statement released by the couple means "Princess" in Hebrew and "red rose" in Persian.

Both Tom and Katie pride themselves on their privacy and over the years have gone to great lengths to keep Suri out of the tabloids and away from the media.

But recently, Katie decided to break from tradition and publicly wish her daughter a happy birthday!

She may be a day late but it's the sentiment that counts, right?

Katie took to her Instagram in order to post a heartwarming collection of black and white mother/daughter photos.

The celebrated actress captioned the photos:

"Happy 15th Birthday Sweetheart! I love you!!!!!!!! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜˜ I canโ€™t believe you are already 15!"

How has it been 15 years already? And how is it that Katie hasn't aged a day in that time?

Even though Suri is now 15-years-old, the pictures Katie chose to share all stem from her younger years.

Like this adorable shot of Suri and her mother sweetly embracing; have you ever seen anything cuter in your entire life?

Up until this point, Katie has only ever given us glimpses of her family life.

It's clear that these photos possess a deep sentimental value and perhaps now that Suri is older, Katie feels more comfortable sharing these moments with the world and her fans.

Just look at that sweet smile!

Katie and Suri are incredibly close, as is plain to see from this goofy photo of the two of them together.

During an interview with Vogue, Katie explained that the one good thing about the COVID-19 pandemic is that it's allowed her ample bonding time with her daughter.

She said about their time together:

"To live for a moment in time without the pressure of results and instead appreciate the natural rhythms of mother and daughter was the most precious gift," Katie explained.

Hopefully, all that time together will inspire Katie to share more candid moments with her fans!

Katie explained that in this time of uncertainty, both she and Suri strive to stay positive and keep creativity at the forefront of their minds.

She said that it's given her a heightened awareness and a new appreciation for each and every moment.

And what better excuse is there to live in the moment than a birthday celebration?!

Happy birthday sweet Suri!
