Lounge On An Outdoor Couch Made From Pallets All Summer Long

Since warm days are just around the corner, I bet you're already thinking of upgrading your outdoor living space. Truth be told, so am I.

This year I want to transform our backyard into an oasis. And what a better way to do so than with cozy furniture? But wait, this isn't just ordinary furniture I'm talking about here. This idea is pretty genius.

I don't know about you, but I love lounging outside.

It's definitely my favorite pastime during spring and summer. However, I don't have any outdoor furniture that accommodates that. Until now, that is. But I just found the most brilliant idea.

Get this I discovered that people are making outdoor couches using pallets.

The same pallets typically just used to transport things are now transforming into cool outdoor furniture. I mean, what? OMG! I honestly would never have even thought of that.

Check this out. Doesn't it look so cozy?

Oh my goodness. What a great idea, huh? I could get used to chilling on something as sweet as that. I can't get over how stylish it looks too. I would never guess this was a DIY job.

If you want to make this yourself, there are a few things you will need.

Get yourself some pallets (preferably four), outdoor cushions, fabric, safety pins, and a fabric water shield. Now you'll need more things to assemble the couch.

You'll also need a circular saw, a 2 x 4 (8-feet long), a drill with driver bits, screws, and an orbital sander.

Cut the pallets to the size of your couch. Secure the pallets using cleats. Once assembled sand the sofa down.

You can also stain the couch for an added special touch.

Then place the cushions, and voilĂ , it's really to be enjoyed by all. I know it sounds easy, but you do have to be at least a little bit handy.

Check this idea out.

If you're as talented as this person, you can even make yourself a coffee table and funky stools like these. Doesn't this look absolutely gorgeous? I love the staining job they did on these pieces here. They look so professionally done.

How fun is this long couch here, huh?

This piece would be perfect for anyone who's got a big family. All those folks can enjoy spending time together on this cozy couch. I really love this idea. What about you?

Who knew that you could make such a great outdoor couch using something as odd as pallets?

I would never have thought of using a material like that. What's your take on it? Would you DIY a couch like this?
