Jennifer Lopez And Alexander Rodriguez Confirm Split: 'We Are Better Off As Friends'

A month after the pair reportedly split, Jennifer Lopez and Alexander Rodriguez have officially called it quits, as per Page Six. The couple has recently shared a heartfelt message with The Today Show.

J.Lo and A.Rod, who got engaged back in 2019, had been together for four years.

As per *Page Six* the pair confirmed their split on Thursday after a month of speculation.

As fans know, the pair were vocal about planning their wedding before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

Their last major public outing was Joe Biden's presidential inauguration.

Back in December, Jennifer updated fans on their wedding planning:

"We had to cancel the wedding … because of COVID, because of the quarantine. And we actually did it twice, which people don’t know," she explained at the time.

In Feburary, the pair were snapped on the beach in the Dominican Republic where J.Lo is filming her latest movie.

Reports as recent as last month said the pair's twice-delayed wedding was back on track.

The split comes shortly after A-Rod was accused of getting cozy with *Southern Charm* star Madison LeCroy.

A source close to the former professional athlete shot down the rumors to The Post, saying "He doesn’t know this woman."

Madison went on to tell *Page Six* that she and A-Rod have "never met up," but that they’d "spoken on the phone."

"That’s the truth," she said, adding they’ve "never been physical … never had any kind of anything. Just an acquaintance."

When the initial reports of their split broke last month, J.Lo and A.Rod were quick to shut down the rumors.

“All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things,” the couple said in a joint statement at the time.

However, breakup rumors began trending again earlier this week when Jennifer shared a series of selfies from the set of her new movie, *Shotgun Wedding* and her engagement ring was MIA.

Now, the couple are confirming their split a month after claiming they were working on their relationship.

"We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so,” the former power couple said in a statement to the *Today* show.

"We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and each other’s children."

They went on to ask for privacy for the sake of their children. As fans know, they each have two kids with exes.

"Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support."

Fans have been flooding social media with messages of love for Jennifer Lopez.

After being so open and honest with fans about their relationship, there's no denying people feel emotionally connected to the pair!

We're wishing both J.Lo and A.Rod all the best moving forward!
