Pregnancy is one of the most exciting and anxious times for all the mommas-to-be out there. As someone who has never been pregnant, but has had lots of pregnant besties, I can't imagine the physical and emotional toll this 9-month miracle process takes.
Now, model and body-positive activist Hunter McGrady is calling for representation for people that are pregnant and plus-size.
Last year, Diply had the chance to chat with Hunter about her size-inclusive clothing line, and her #AllWorthy body-positive campaign.
Recently, the 27-year-old announced she was expecting her first child, a son, with hubby Brian Keys.
"Plus size and pregnant. Being plus size the representation already falls incredibly short, but being plus size AND pregnant? Forget it," the blonde bombshell began.
"However, I never saw myself represented, I knew going into this my belly wasn’t going to be this perfect little round thing that just bops out, I knew I wouldn’t have options for maternity wear, i knew my body would change in different ways than i have seen my whole life, and yet I don’t know if I was prepared for how much the plus size pregnancy representation lacks."
"It’s almost as if we don’t exist, like we’re an anomaly. I’m here to tell you that you are not a 'one off' you’re not wrong for being plus size and pregnant, your body is equipped for this."
Hunter's comments section instantly became filled with love and support for the mamma-to-be.
