Tina Turner Gives Rare Insight Into Longtime Love Affair With Husband Erwin Bach

Tina Turner is giving fans a never-before-seen glimpse of her life with longtime love and hubby Erwin Bach in her emotional new HBO documentary, Tina.

It's hard to imagine what music would look like today without the music sensation that is Tina Turner. The 81-year-old is responsible for some of the most important songs from the '80s. Known as the queen of Rock n' Roll, Tina has always been a force to be reckoned with.

Now, before saying farewell to fans with her emotional new documentary, Tina is giving fans a glimpse into her love life.

Erwin Bach, Tina's second husband, is the man who finally brought the superstar happiness after years of emotional and physical abuse at the hand of her ex-husband, Ike Turner.

In the documentary, Tina reflects: "It wasn’t a good life. The good did not balance the bad."

She continued, as reported by The Mirror: "I had an abusive life, there’s no other way to tell the story. It’s a reality. It’s a truth. That’s what you’ve got, so you have to accept it."

"Some people say the life that I lived and the performances that I gave, the appreciation, is blasting with the people."

"And yeah, I should be proud of that. I am," she clarified.

“But when do you stop being proud? I mean, when do you, how do you bow out slowly? Just go away?”

It appears Tina has chosen to bow out with grace and love with her must-see documentary.

The pair recalled meeting for the first time over 35 years ago for the HBO doc.

"We met at Cologne [Bonn] Airport — actually it was Düsseldorf Airport [in Germany], and her manager Roger [Davies] asked me to pick up Tina," says Erwin in the doc, as per People.

"He was [16 years] younger [than me]," Tina adds.

"He was 30 years old at the time and had the prettiest face. I mean, you cannot [describe] it. It was like insane. [I thought], ‘Where did he come from?’"

"He was really so good-looking," she continued.

"My heart [was beating fast] and it means that a soul has met, and my hands were shaking… So [my manager] Roger said to me, ‘Tina, you ride with Erwin,’ and I wanted to go, ‘Yay!'"

"We enjoyed the ride," Erwin recalls.

"I enjoyed driving the artist, actually a superstar. You’re normally a little nervous, but I wasn’t nervous either. I was just doing the job."

Tina later added: "My heart went ba-bum. It means that a soul has met."

"When he found out that I liked him, he came to America and we were in Nashville and I said to him, ‘When you come to LA, I want you to make love to me.’"

"I thought that I could say that because I was a free woman, I didn’t have a boyfriend, I liked him."

"There was nothing wrong with it — it was just sex. And he looked at me as if he didn’t believe what he was hearing."

She concluded: "He was just so different, so laid back, so comfortable, so unpretentious, and that was the beginning of our relationship."

These days, Tina spends most of her time with her husband in Switzerland, where they live permanently.

We're so happy Tina has found her happily ever after.
