William Shatner Says 'It's A Bit Embarrassing' To Be 90 Years Old

Some people have complicated feelings about getting older. Me, I decided to stop with that whole business and have decided to just celebrate my 27th birthday for the rest of my life, but for the people who are still dedicated to the process, it can bring a mix of emotions.

William Shatner is definitely feeling that one after celebrating a pretty huge milestone birthday recently.

William Shatner is a LEGEND.

You know him as Captain James T. Kirk from Star Trek, but he's also celebrated for his work in films and TV shows like Miss Congeniality, Over The Hedge, TJ Hooker, and Boston Legal.

He's a staple of film and TV at this point, so put some respect on his name!

William celebrated his 90th birthday on March 22nd.

I know, it's hard to believe that such an iconic actor is aging at all, but like all of us, time continues to march on for Captain Kirk.

William recently opened up about turning the big nine-oh in a new interview.

William revealed he's not exactly over the moon to have hit that milestone age.

"I mean, my God, who's the who wants to be 90?" William joked. "I don't want to be 90, but I'm 90. It's a bit embarrassing."

Embarrassing is one word for it, but I guess being 90 beats the alternative!

"Everything is a discovery..." William said of growing older.

"What's interesting is to discover not only [things] about yourself, but about the world around you, there's always continuous discovery."

Spoken like a true captain of the USS Enterprise!

William also said his age isn't going to stop him from taking part at the Star Trek Set Tour in New York in July.

"Why not [go] if I'm asked to do it?" William asked. "It's fun in its way, answering these questions and trying to come up with different answers and enjoying the exchange [with fans]."

William should be proud to be so full of life at 90, not embarrassed!

However, he's fully welcome to start copying my strategy of just always turning 27 if he'd like to — I promise I won't tell anyone if he doesn't.
