Mayim Bialik Says She Is 'Struggling' To Get 'Blossom' Reboot Started 'After Literally Years Of Trying'

It seems like streaming networks are just begging to reboot any show from the '80s and '90s. I mean seriously, there's a better chance your favorite TV show from back in the day is getting a reboot than not.

Punky Brewster? Check.

Beverly Hills, 90210? Check.

Saved by the Bell? Check.

Blossom? NO CHECK!

That's right, the show that placed our beloved Mayim Bialik on the path of world domination is not getting a reboot anytime soon, or so she says.

Now call me crazy, but I'm not a big fan of all these reboots.

I like my TV shows the way I like my Beatles songs — original. I don't want any covers. Any reimaginings. I don't want any reinventions, or reboots!

Maybe that makes me a grouch, but it wouldn't be the first time someone's called me that!

One show I WOULDN'T MIND seeing a reboot of is *Blossom*.

Maybe it's just because of my deep love of Mayim Bialik. Maybe it's because of my love of vests. Whatever the reasoning is, I would not be mad if Blossom was back on my television.

Maybe it was because of their ability to tackle such heavy-hitting issues in a time when many TV shows just weren't talking about it.

Now, Mayim is spilling the beans about the reboot, or lack thereof!

While chatting with EW, the actress explained how she and Blossom creator Don Reo have been trying to bring back the popular '90s series.

"I guess I'm allowed to talk about this now, Don Reo and I do have a limited reboot that we would like to do. We've had a lot of trouble getting our network onboard," Mayim told the piblication.

"It's been really fascinating," Mayim continued.

"At a certain point, I may just start a grassroots fan campaign to see if we can do it because we absolutely would love people to see where these characters are," she adds. "[Reo] and I talked about it and we kind of decided after literally years of trying to work on this that I would probably just say it out loud. We do have a well-formed idea and we would love someone to let us do it."

However, if this reboot ever does get made, don't expect to see Mayim in those hats anytime soon!

"Of anyone, I should not be seen in those hats. I did it once and I'm done. Other people can wear them but I will never wear one again."
