We can't think of anything quite as touching as this story of an unlikely friendship formed during a dangerous ice storm when two adorable animals found themselves cuddled up to keep each other safe and warm.
Even after the storm cleared, their friendship blossomed, and these buddies have only continued to bond and cuddle as more time goes by.
Now they're truly inseparable.
AS CBC News reported, Bonnie Potoroka recently discovered that her pregnant heifer had given birth to a calf early during a cold day at their farm in Saskatchewan, Canada.
With weather dropping well below freezing, the newborn calf's life was immediately in danger. She was already wet upon birth and the cold water on her body was causing her ears to begin breezing.
Potoroka quickly took the calf inside her home so the heat could warm the the poor newborn up. But as it turns out, Potoroka wasn't the only one on the farm who wanted to make sure the little calf was okay.
Her dog, a collie named Mickey, was instantly drawn to the animal and quickly began cuddling the newborn in an effort to keep her warm.
It's easily the cutest thing we've ever seen.
It's still much too cold for the still unnamed calf to return to the barn full time, but she does frequently venture out there to visit her mama. And when she comes back inside, she and Mickey cuddle up next to one another.
"Baby is still only three days old, so she sleeps a lot," Potoroka told the CBC. "So she'll lay down on the rug and [Mickey will] come next to her and lay down beside her. So they usually just sleep together."
This is the first time Mickey formed such a powerful attachment with another farm animal, and it seems like this is one that could last a lifetime.
If their bond was already this strong on day one, we can't wait to see how much closer the two become over the years. We truly believe that these too cuties prove that friendship is always possible even with unlikely friends.
