Paramount+ Announces Exciting Line Of Content For Streaming Service

We are living in the age of the Streaming Wars. Digital platforms have rapidly become the new norm for consuming movies/television, and it seems like every week a new player is entering the arena.

Meet Paramount+: a unique blend of foundational films and series, combined with brand new original/live content for your viewing pleasure.

Recently, they announced their first wave of releases and we're bringing you all the highlights.

1. *Criminal Minds*

CBS

It's been barely a year since we said goodbye to Criminal Minds, but it looks as if the team is coming back for 10 more episodes and one last case.

I went through serious withdrawal when this show went away, so this is fantastic news!

2. *Flashdance*

Flashdance is a classic film about a young woman's struggle to achieve her dreams while at the same maneuvering the pitfalls of life, love, and the ties that bind.

The new series is set to take place immediately preceding the events of the film but in the present day.

3. *Halo*

This one is for all my Master Chiefs out there — Halo has finally come home!

The brand new live-action series will be a loose retelling of the first video game, detailing humanity's battle against the alien Covenant.

4. *Love Story*

Fans of The O.C. and Gossip Girl may want to pay attention:

Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are once again reuniting to bring us Love Story — a new original series based on the film of the same name.

5. *Star Trek: Strange New Worlds*

I'm a firm believer that Star Trek installments are like pizza: there is no bad — just varying degrees of good.

Strange New Worlds will follow Captain Christopher Pike, the man who captained the U.S.S. Enterprise 10 years prior to Captain Kirk

6. *Y:1883*

One of my favorite new shows that I only recently discovered is Yellowstone; it's kind of like The Sopranos, only on horseback.

Y:1883 is a prequel series that tells the story of the expansion of the Old West through the eyes of the Dutton family.

7. *Rugrats*

Not only are the Rugrats coming back for a brand new adventure series, but the show is also championing the original voice actors!

Parents will love it for the nostalgia, and kids will love it because, well — it's the freaking Rugrats!

8. *Love Island On Paramount+*

I love a good reality-TV series and they don't get much better (or raunchier) than Love Island.

This will be an expansion of the popular series and will allow subscribers to look beyond what's shown on the normal broadcast feeds.

9. *The Real World: Homecoming: New York*

MTV

In order to know where you're going, you need to be able to appreciate where you've come from.

The Real World: Homecoming: New York will reunite the original seven housemates 30 years after the groundbreaking series began.

10. *Frasier*

NBC

"Hey baby, I hear the blues a-callin' — tossed salads and scrambled eggs!"

Frasier was one of the defining sitcoms of the '90s, and I for one can't wait to see what the good doctor has been up to after all these years in this eagerly anticipated reboot.

11. *Workaholics Movie*

It's happening — it's finally happening! Adam, Blake, and 'The Ders' are all back in what promises to be a paradigm-shifting instant comedy classic.

I've never laughed so hard in my life watching the original Workaholics series. Bring it on!

12. *From Cradle To Stage*

From Cradle to Stage is a six-episode documentary series created by Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, based on the book "From Cradle to Stage: Stories from the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars," written by Dave's mother.

It will look to explore the bonds between rockers and their moms.

13. *The NFL On CBS*

Fear not, sports fans — Paramount+ has got you covered come football season. That means that you never have to worry about missing your favorite team as they take the grid-iron.

While I'm here: let's hear it for the Washington Football Team!

14. *Scream*

The fifth (and final?) installment of the highly lauded horror franchise is set to release in January of 2022.

Original screenwriter, Kevin Williamson, will be joined by David Arquette, Courtney Cox, as well as Neve Campbell. Who's excited to go back to Woodsboro?

And that's only the beginning. Check out what else Paramount+ has in store below!

Star Trek Picard

The Italian Job

Reno: 911
