Resurfaced David Letterman Clip Shows Him Sucking Jennifer Aniston's Hair: 'Disgusting'

In light of the new New York Times documentary, Framing Britney Spears, social media has been taking a closer look at how young women in Hollywood have been treated by the media. Unfortunately, social media users don't have to look hard to find problematic and nearly unwatchable interviews from the past few decades.

Now, a series of questionable David Letterman interviews have been resurfaced on social media lately. The most recent controversial clip shows the talkshow host seemingly sucking on Jennifer Aniston's hair.

There's no denying that many things from the '90s haven't aged well, and no, I'm not *just* talking about myself.

Many movies, TV shows, and songs that were popular back in the day can be looked back on now as problematic and downright cringe.

And while sometimes I think people take it a little too far, there are some things that were creepy back then and are even creepier now.

Many late-night television hosts have been coming under fire recently,

Many old, problematic interviews have resurfaced online and have caused a wave of backlash. It's never easy to watch young celebrities squirm during an uncomfortable interview, but it's truly easy to forget how awful things used to be for celebrities back then!

As you may have seen, David Letterman is getting called out on social media for a series of old interview clips.

His 2013 interview with Lindsay Lohan has gone viral with people being incredibly upset with the comedian's treatment of the young star.

As fans may recall, the actress was going through a public struggle with substance abuse back in 2013.

"Aren't you supposed to be in rehab?" David asked, while the audience laughed.

Instead of offering a sympathetic ear, David proceeds to mock Lindsay.

"What are they rehab-ing? What is on their list? What are they going to work on when you walk through the door?" he asked.

"This wasn't in the pre-interview," Lindsay replied, visibly uncomfortable.

"No, I think, to be honest, I’m the happiest when I’m working and the healthiest, and I think this an opportunity for me to, you know, focus on what I love in life. And I don’t think it’s a bad thing. I think it’s a blessing…and not a curse," she added.

David continued, asking, "Yeah, I’m sorry. Is it, like, alcohol? Do you drink too much?"

Lindsay replied, "We’ve discussed this in the past."

"Did we really?" he replied. "When did we discuss — now I’m the one who’s having the blackouts…I oughta be at rehab."

"You can’t make a joke of it, that’s so mean. You can’t do that, it’s my show now," she said, taking his interview notes out of his hand before starting to cry.

If that wasn't bad enough, another newly resurfaced interview is going viral.

The most recent clip that is causing a stir on social media is a 1998 interview from Late Night with David Letterman.

In the clip, David seemingly sucks on a piece of Jennifer Aniston's hair while conducting the interview.

Yep, it's just as weird and yucky as it sounds!

In 1998, Jennifer Aniston was on top of the world as *Friends* was entering cult-like status.

Five minutes into her interview, David says to the young actress, "Forgive me if this is rude, I just want to try one thing," before coming up behind a visibly uncomfortable-looking Jen.

The host then puts one hand on Jen's neck, before leaning in and sticking his TONGUE OUT TOWARD HER.

At this point, Jen squeals and asks, "What are you doing?" before leaning away.

David then proceeds to hold onto her neck as he takes a strand of her hair into his mouth. He sucks on it for a few moments before releasing it and handing the young actress a tissue.

"That's something I'll never forget," Jennifer says awkwardly.

David then replies, "Well you scared the hell out of me. I was like that and all of a sudden you screamed. How did you think I felt? You ruined it for me. Are you happy?"

"I'm so sorry!" Jen replies. "What was I thinking?"

The actress then goes on to discuss the new film she is meant to be promoting before she gets interrupted by him again, saying, "You're still traumatized aren't you?"

Naturally, the clip is going over very poorly on social media.

This interview is just one small example of women in Hollywood being treated disrespectfully and then being forced to laugh through it.

"Just saw a clip of letterman sucking on poor Jennifer Aniston’s hair in the 90s and I guess at this point it’s more that I’m wondering if there’s some brain chemical men have that makes them absolutely insane," tweeted one user.

"The truth is if we start digging up past interviews where women are treated like [expletive] we will find hundreds if not thousands of inappropriate interviews," echoed another.
