Magic Lilies Are Here To Make Your Garden Absolutely Magical This Fall

Usually flowers mark the beginning of spring and new life for many home gardeners, but that's not necessarily the case.

There are plenty of flower varieties that pop up towards the end of August and beginning of September, and magic lilies are one of those varieties that marks a fresh start to the year in its own way!

Magic lilies, or lycoris squamigera, are the prettiest pink flowers that add some new color to mark the start of fall.

They're perennials that bloom in late summer, around the end of August and early September.

They're called 'Magic Lilies' because the flowers sort of just pop up unexpectedly after its own foliage has died and fallen off the stem.

Unsurprisingly, it's also called 'Surprise Lilies' because of this.

They're a nice surprise at the end of summer when it's almost time to say goodbye to other flowers.

They also look like magic flower wands when they're fully bloomed.

They grow in clusters, which really adds a nice pop of color and brightness to gardens that are losing their summer flowers.

Now, if you haven't planted yours yet, they do take a year to bloom.
