This New Sour Pickle Beer Is Ready To Challenge Your Taste Buds

As someone whose job is to find new, trendy things and write about them, I think I can safely say that pickles are A Thing.

Not that they've ever gone out of style, but from pickle pizza to pickle cotton candy to pickle splits, they're definitely a big dill right now.

So of course companies are looking to put their twist on the trend.

Which is how we got this new collaboration between Texas-based Best Maid Pickles and Martin House Brewing Company.

It's called Sour Pickle Beer and it's made by adding Best Maid's brine directly to their Salty Lady Sour Gose beer as it's being brewed.

Yep. There are no infusions or blend of herbs meant to mimic the Best Maid Pickle flavor. It's just the actual brine mixed right in there.

And that's not the only product coming from the partnership.

Best Maid Pickles are also releasing a new "Beer Pickle" which uses coriander and lemon to create a brine that tastes like the Salty Lady Sour Gose Martin House used to make their pickly beer.

Both of those sound pretty good, right?

Sadly, the beer will only be available in Texas and can't be shipped elsewhere. It's also a limited time offering, though they've hinted at plans to make it an annual feature.

But if it's popular, I wouldn't be surprised if other brewers take note.
