As the saying goes, a picture says a thousand words. Now, this can really mean many things. Most popularly, it means that each still photograph has a story behind it, right? Pretty common knowledge.
Now-a-days, photos on social media really tell 10 thousand words, with people editing their photos or exaggerating scenarios. Most people get away with it, but you'd better be careful if your sibling is around to catch your lies. That's what one Instagrammer learned the hard way.
People are able to share their experiences and create a community of sorts around them.
Being a social media influencer is just as legitimate a job title is as being an entrepreneur is.
People are not necessarily actually who they say they are.
If you're a reality TV buff, then you might remember MTV's show Catfish, a show about catching people online who are deceiving their love interests off-screen.
Talk about awkward!
And that's exactly what happened, very quickly, to one young woman on Instagram.
She originally captioned it, "Nature is the ultimate healer to all our problems."
It appeared as though she was enjoying some time outside, maybe going for a walk in the woods.
Casey's own sister, Carly, called her bluff!
Carly wrote, "My sister said she was going hiking......"
CAUGHT.
Carly really did that to her sis! It's pretty savage, but I know I wouldn't pass up this kind of opportunity to hilariously out my sister, too.
Could she not technically go for a hike in their backyard if their backyard has a giant trail behind it?
She did not back down with the receipts! If you're going to completely out your own sister on social media, you gotta come prepared.
Casey is definitely taking the attention well, even changing the caption of the original Instagram photo.
Casey's updated Instagram caption now reads, "Did I go hiking? No. Is this my backyard?...... Maybe."
Ah, sisterly love.
They love Casey's attention to detail, making sure to bring a full water bottle with her to really make it seem like she's going on a long hike.
See? Who is to really say what a hike is! It's up to one's own definition of what hiking is. Maybe to some it's a brisk walk, maybe to others it's a 10-hour climb up a mountain.
And she sure did do that for The Gram! Her post now has over 5K likes!
