At 75 years old, Danny Trejo may be known for playing villains, bad guys, or guys with questionable motivations in movies and television, but it turns out the Machete star in real life is an absolute hero.
He's also appeared in Spy Kids, Heat, Breaking Bad, Brooklyn Nine Nine, The X-Files, and Sons of Anarchy, usually playing a tough guy, villain, or anti-hero.
According to CNN, Trejo happened to bear witness to two vehicles crashing into one another on Wednesday, causing one of the vehicles to roll over.
Trejo says he noticed the overturned vehicle still had a two year old and his grandmother inside, and he rushed into action when the grandmother begged him to help.
Another bystander, Monica Jackson, crawled in through the other window to undo the car seat's buckle, allowing Trejo to lift the child out of the car seat and out of the car.
Trejo told KABC, ""He was panicked. I said OK, we have to use our superpowers. So he screamed 'superpowers' and we started yelling 'superpowers.'"
Trejo said that his advice for motorists would be, "Pay attention," and added "The only thing that saved that little kid was his car seat, honest to God."
While Trejo was rescuing the baby, firefighters were rescuing the boy's grandmother. The Los Angeles Fire Department said three people were transported to a hospital as a result of the crash, but there were no life-threatening injuries.
Someone added that they "Would love to see a Danny/Keanu buddy movie. I'm not saying it has to be John Wick Meets Machete, but I'm not NOT saying it, you know?"
I would definitely be buying tickets for that one.
