Now, I have to say, moths have always freaked me out. I've only ever heard horror stories about them, about how they like to eat clothes and such. And they only come out night and somehow get trapped in your house when you open the door, and I've just never liked it.
I can't believe I'm about to say this, but moths are actually quite beautiful when you take a closer look, and this one in particular looks exactly like a leaf.
They're known for their large wingspan (10 cm or more!) and their bright green wings that resemble leaves.
Moths get a pretty bad rap for not being too nice to look at, but the Luna Moth proves that idea to be false.
I would definitely mistake it for a leaf, which actually might be useful when hiding from its predators.
They actually don't have mouths that they feed from, so they only live for a few days.
