Singer Grimes Surgically Removed Top Film Of Her Eyeball To Cure Depression

Seasonal depression can get the worst of the best of us. Seasonal affective disorder, or SAD, is a type of depression that occurs at the same time every year, most often in the winter. Light therapy, lots of exposure to sunlight, and a regular workout schedule can help treat it, but Grimes had a different idea to try to treat the disorder.

Removing part of her eyeball.

Now, you might be saying, "who?"

And that's fair. Grimes is an indie singer, but more recently has been known for dating Elon Musk and generally being really weird.

In a recent Instagram post, Grimes got weirder than ever.

The singer described her, quite frankly, ridiculous fitness routine.

She says she spends “2-4 hours in a deprivation tank,” has a “1-2 hour afternoon sword practice” and also achieves something known as a “neuroplastic goal” that is apparently optimized for her blood type.

She also has some "screaming sessions" before she records.

The craziest part, though, is what she claims she had done to her eyes.

Grimes wrote that, "I have also eliminated all blue light from my vision through an experimental surgery that removes the top film of my eyeball and replaces it with an orange ultra-flex polymer that my friend and I made in the lab this past winter as a means to cure seasonal depression."

Emphasis mine, because, WHAT?!

Some people think Grimes is trolling us.

Which honestly might make more sense than Grimes doing experimental eyeball surgery involving replacing parts of her eyeball to combat depression, but who can even tell anymore? 2019 is a crazy place and I would love to get off the ride now please.
