Dog The Bounty Hunter star Leland Chapman, son of Duane 'Dog' Chapman and Beth Chapman, has been hospitalized during the first manhunt the team has embarked on since Beth passed away on June 26th.
Beth was placed in a medically induced coma due to complications from her recent throat cancer diagnosis. She had announced earlier that she was rejecting chemotherapy treatments.
All of the photos showed Beth with the rest of the Chapman family. Leland opted not to caption the photos, allowing the photos to speak for themselves.
Sources tell The Blast that after tracking the criminal, the team pounced on him in order to complete the arrest.
According to The Blast, Leland tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the ensuing scuffle. The hunt was taking place in Adams County, Colorado.
The ACL, one of the key ligaments that help stabilize the knee joint, connects the thighbone to the shinbone. Approximately 100 thousand to 200 thousand ACL ruptures per year in the US.
The hospital was able to identify his injury properly. The Blast's source states that while the suspect "fought like hell," Dog and Leland were able to restrain him and take him into custody.
Speaking to AL.com, a spokespereson for Leland confirmed that he will be out of action for six weeks due to this injury.
The manhunt for this fugitive was being filmed for the family's new show coming soon to WGN, Dog's Most Wanted.
The quote reads, "Note to self: I don't have to take this day all at once, but rather, one step, one breath, one moment at a time. I am only one person. Things will get done when they get done."
He will likely still be able to attend the live-streamed mass service for his Beth Chapman taking place on Saturday, July 13th.
You can also watch the stream on the Dog's Most Wanted Facebook page. Dog shared the date and location of the funeral and said that anyone who wishes to attend is welcome.
We wish Leland a speedy recovery.
