Joy grew up on the show 19 Kids And Counting and now joins her other siblings on Counting On. The show chronicles the older Duggar children as they start their own families.

Joy and Austin are the parents to their one-year-old son named Gideon.

The family celebrated Gideon's first birthday back in February.

And in May, the couple announced that they were expecting their second child.

They shared the news with fans and family on their Instagram through these photos which showed Joy holding a photo from her ultrasound.

Since the announcement, Joy and Austin have shared a few other details about the pregnancy.

The couple recently attended a wedding where Joy showed off her growing baby bump. They also posted a few more ultrasound photos and videos for their followers.

Sadly, the couple took to Instagram again to share a devastating update.

"Today marks one week since we heard these words…'So this is your baby’s heart (pointing to the ultrasound screen). I don’t hear a heartbeat or see any movement,'" they wrote on Instagram.

Joy had gone for her 20-week ultrasound to find out the baby's gender, but they learned that their baby had passed away.

"Although we don’t understand why, God has given us unexplainable peace and comfort during this very difficult time," they said.

The couple also announced that they learned their baby was a girl and have named her Annabell Elise.

Since sharing the news, Joy and Austin's family have reached out to them and offered their condolences on Instagram.
