Rock and roll can be a dangerous world, but the world can be equally dangerous in your own home. TMZ reports that Steven Adler, the drummer for the legendary rock band Guns N' Roses, has been hospitalized following an accident with a knife.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ someone at Adler's resident was the one to place the 911 emergency call on Thursday night. Adler was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The representative for Adler states that "the stabbing was not a suicide attempt, and simply an accident," to counteract earlier headlines.
They referred to the injury as a "superficial wound" and stated that it would not interfere with Adler's plans of playing a gig on July 12th in Las Vegas.
Despite the band's incredible success during that time, Adler was let go from the band in 1990, due to his issues with substance abuse.
He appeared on the second and fifth seasons of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. Adler also was a part of the first season of the spin-off show Sober House.
While Adler's history has been very public, his representative states that Adler has "been sober for several years," and this incident was unrelated.
Due to back issues, however, Adler was unable to play a larger part in the reunion. He has made guest appearances with the band at a few other shows since.
Adler makes regular appearances as a solo act and as a guest drummer, and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Guns N' Roses in 2012.
